It finally started snowing around here within the last 30 minutes or so...come on snow day tomorrow!!!

 

Yeah these are the nordman 5 SUVs. Things are awesome was like $100 a tire and have gone through everything. Even towing they’ve held up better then expected. I’m figuring I’ll get another winter out of them. Toss it in 4wd and grips everything

 

We have already been canceled, I ran out to the store for a new bottle of whiskey once I got the message.

 

I've got a few beers in a cooler on the deck waiting for me after I put the kids to bed!

 

Just got the text message from work. Opening at 10 tomorrow. Will update by 9 if it needs to change.

Wife got the call from school before dinner. As of right now it's a 2 hr delay but will update by 7 if it needs to change.

 

We can be late up to 2 hours for work tomorrow

 

2-3 inches in Waltham, MA... coming down heavy and fast right now

 

Nice. Probably to give peeps a chance to dig out.

 

We had 6" measured off my truck about an hour ago, still coming down pretty good with strong winds.

Shop opens at 6, normal time, they love to Fuck us on PTO so get there by 8 and you lose 2 hours OT, but dont have to come in Saturday or use however much PTO to cover up to 8 hours for tomorrow

 

That's fucked up. No compassion for peeps.

 

Yup. I actually updated my resume tonight and looked on indeed for a little. Hoping I can find a shop and get paid what I should be at about $3-$5 more an hour

 

I have a dentist appt. tomorrow.
I schedule tomorrow off four months ago.

 

Got word at 4pm to come in to work. Not pleased. Snow up to 1st porch step. Kept us there 3 hours. Took an hour to get home (20 minute drive). Had to shovel the plow droppings to get into my driveway & got the car stuck in the driveway!

Took the Prius to work, left the Tacoma home. Figured if I did a 'Becca (@DoubleRGirl ) I wanted to put the Prius into the tree. Got it sideways a couple of times, but stayed on the "pavement".

When I got home the snow was up to the 3rd porch step. Seems to be up to step #4 now. Still coming down.

Tomorrow - I'll get to work when I get to work. They can deal with it. I showed up tonight in the thick of it.

 

Good luck Drew. Fingers crossed for you my friend. Really hoping you find something ASAP. Companies don't know how to value people anymore. At least that's the feeling I have. Easy to let you go at the drop of a hat. They don't appreciate people's hard work and commitment anymore.

 

Dude I haven't ran a machine for more than a few days at a time since like July. They have me doing other things and I have helped them out a ton, with zero return .They're slow right now, but still throw me a fucking bone or something

Still at work for one more hour, then the fun begins.
Getting double pay on these closed snow days are nice.

 

Ha. Same here. I had an 8 am. They called and started with the "hello, how are you doing?"
I said "Great, I'm super exited. I've got this dentist appointment tomorrow at 8 am that I have been looking forward to for months and I sure hope you're as excited as I am!"
The lady just started laughing and kindly asked if i would be just as excited about 9:30.
I accommodated

 

Oh and GIANT tree took out a transformer one street over. I saw the explosion. No power. Damn deceptacons....
With so many old trees in the neighborhood it sounds like wooden ships breaking apart in ice floes. This massive bunch just crashed into the road in front of our house from the neighbors 100ft pine. It's hard to see but it's chainsaw worthy.

 

I was out doing some shoveling & heard the deep slow cracking of a tree. Actually made me nervous, but seemed to be the tree on the far side of the neighbors house. Nothing down yet, but I finished up quick as I could with an eye skyward. Creepy when under them!
