This is my first Tacoma, but I am not new to the Toyota world. My previous truck was a 1995 22RE single cab pickup 2wd with the W55 five speed. I sold that truck with 215,000 miles to buy my current truck. I am familiar with the 22RE engine, but would like to further familiarize myself with the 2TR-FE engine in my truck.

    My truck:

2008 white Tacoma access cab pre-runner SR5, 2.7L 2TR-FE and R155 5 speed with 93,500 miles. The body and frame are in excellent shape for being 10 years old, and the interior is very clean. I live on the California central coast, so rust isn't an issue.

    Issues with truck:

-Needs to have the parking brake adjusted, the lever comes out all the way to the end of its travel.

-Serpentine belt tensioner is bad, this results in too much slack so the belt constantly squeaks.

-The clutch may need replacement soon, it doesn't grab until the pedal is nearly all the way out.

Overall, I am very happy with the truck, its all I have ever aspired to have in truck. It is much more comfortable and much quieter then my previous truck. I am over 6 feet tall, so the old single cab was a little tight :p

Nice. I did exact same thing, going from 22re to my second get 4cyl 5spd. The second gen is luxury car in comparison. Welcome to TW!
