You got the BMW driver parking almost down pat (angled in a spot and barely in it.). Next time you need to be angled across 3 spots.

Hey guys, so I’m in Nashville, new to this truck stuff and I’m looking for a good shop to do suspension install and some other things. Any recommendations? Not a fan of 4wheel parts or anything like that. Wanting a legit place that knows their ish. Let me know! Not afraid to travel to Chattanooga or somewhere for top notch work.

Describe “other things”? I know there’s a good handful of us Nashville guys that’ll let you come over and we’ll help you install everything and teach ya, in exchange for food or something.

Welcome. Let’s see the truck. We still don’t have a resident 3rd gen here. Hang around if you can tolerate us. Haha.

There aren’t many “pay a shop” types in this thread, so recommendations might be hard to come by. The good news is there are a whole bunch in here that enjoy wrenching. What are you looking to have done?

Also, you should come to lbl next week to meet everybody and get dirty.

Hell yeah! I’m more of a wrench it myself type guy to begin with. Coming from a couple serious Subaru builds, this is my first truck. I just am forced to live in a small place in Nashville at the moment where I can’t keep all my tools :(. But I’m looking at doing some suspension mods, haven’t decided on exactly what yet. Still trying to figure out what all I need. Just want like an extra inch to help with clearance and no sag in the rear. Just getting started on this thing. Would love to come meet some people and have some fun!

Tom’s 4x4 out of Chattanooga does good work. They did a body lift and suspension lift on my xterra

I hear good things about scorpion off-road about 30 minutes north of chatt town in Cleveland also

I’m open to ideas. Was currently trying to decide between, Fox 2.5, Icons, or Kings. Kinda wanted to go with Fox to keep the TRD Pro fox vibes.

I don’t want to look like a jacked up modded truck though, I’m more after a “proper” overland build if that makes sense. So really only want around an inch of lift I think. Just want enough to properly clear the 285/70s I’ve got on there. I had to do a very slight trim and heat gun the fender liner to clear the tires for on road, but don’t want to be held up going off-road which is why I’m looking at suspension.

Also have a prinsu, voodoo rack, bed cover, and CVT tent in the works. So countering any rear sag I might end up having is on the mind too.

Lifting won’t help you clear tires off-road. Your tire is in the same position at full compression (sitting on the bump stops) whether you’re lifted or not. Only trimming/cutting/smashing will fix it. Identify what is in the way, and make it not in the way anymore.

You need to converse with @Kenstaroni. I think he had the same truck with a very similar setup that you have in mind.

Can a top plate spacer not be used on 3rd gens? Headstrong makes one that sits on top of the coil over, between the top hat and upper shock bucket. I think that's how it works.
