If he can afford someone to do it for him why not? Just because I’m not Matt then you assume I don’t know how to do it. Don’t be a dick. If you’re going to comment something at least be helpful. He’s obviously struggling to get ahold of Matt. We all know he’s busy with the upgrades and releases he’s doing. You’re the kind of person that makes this forum undesirable.

Hey everyone. New to TW as a member, but I have read every single page (1-42) of this post because this topic is incredibly enlightening.

    However,

I have a 2016 TRD OR DBCB with a 130lb bumper and winch, 100lbs of sliders, 265/75 Falken AT3’s & 16 stock wheels. 2” OME lift w/new UCAs and Dakar leaf pack. Soft canopy

Should I buy this tune kit for my rig? Will I have less vibrations? Will driveline vibes change? I have done everything even needle bearing replacement so far. They r consistent 35-43mph. I notice I consistently get 16-18mpg. It is hard to imagine how much more enjoyable the truck will be for me because this is the nicest rig I have ever owned or been in as far as a truck.

    Thank you

Welcome to TW and congrats on your rig! My mod situation isn't the same as yours - but I have about 300lbs of bolt-ons so we are similar in that regard though I'm not lifted. My driveline / exhaust vibrations are immensely reduced with the tune - immensely. The truck also makes more power lower in the RPMs so the harmonic vibration range isn't at cruise as often. The tune will definitely make your truck drive smoother - no question about that. Will it fix lift-caused driveline issues, no obviously but between smoothness and massive increase in drivability it's worth more than the price of admission.

    @bshammer0

Awesome! Thank you for this info.
I plan on running the cheaper gas just because I commute so far for work.
Does the 87oct update seem to be ok? Also which version seems to be the best right now for a rig like mine?

Now, the only problem lies in getting my hands on the cheapest PC laptop I can to be able to work with his software.

I haven't run 87 since just before I got the tune last summer so I honestly can't comment BUT I've seen many folks post about their satisfaction with 87 - one guy even towed a jeep with no issues so I'm sure you'll be fine. I keep meaning to try 87 myself but as of yet haven't.

If you don't have a PC you can also look at options on Mac if you have a MacBook. Otherwise virtually ANY windows laptop that has 2 USB ports and an internet connection will work as long as it was made in the last 10 years :)

Sounds like a no-brainer. I am still interested in which tune is the best for my setup. I commute 45 min each way to work everyday all highway. However, I do trail ride often with some sketchy situations. Is the 1.03C the best option so far (latest update)?

Needs to be a WINDOWS laptop - this runs the google chrome operating system so it won't work. And for the AT's (vs. MT) currently there is only one 1.03 tune and it is the latest and greatest.

Oh duh. Well may have to take a trip to the local WorstBuy or Frys and see if there is a cheap that is worthy.

And yes, I do have AT Trans

    Thanks

something along these lines would be fine - so long as it's running Windows, 2 USB ports, has wifi/internet you'll be fine.

    https://www.amazon.com/HP-Elitebook...hirteen_browse-bin:9521914011,p_36:2421886011

You will find something that works for ~$200 or less but maybe not at BB or Fry's

Has anybody done this on a Mac running Windows via VMware Fusion? I can’t see why it wouldn’t work as you can do USB pass through and all that.

I would love to know if this can work with a MAC because I have plenty of those ;)

I did it on a 2010 MBP running the free oracle virtual machine software. I installed the free windows 10 insider edition pro software and passed the USB devices through.

that's what I'm going to do. I've used parallels in the past with good success (obviously not for tuning) so I'll be going with their free 14 day trial... (though i'll probably just buy it since I have a couple other things that work better with windows)

Does anyone have a video on the install? I need to see a step by step so I don't screw it up when I get the software.

Is there additional cost(software wise/license fee) if want to switch between 87 and 91 octane? I'm getting the tune today and wanted to try 87 first and then 91 to see which one is better.

They’re all included in the package you paid for. Flash 87 one day and 91 the next. Go back to stock on the third day, then back to one of the other two the next.

I see that now. The directions are thorough, but intimidating...to me. I will be running this thru windows 10 on my Mac via Oracle software
