My ECM calibration number is 04B03 so I know there's no problem flashing that, but my TCU is 89665-04013. Do we use the 2016+04B03? Thanks

@OVTune Okay, for me in NE Ohio, I had the best luck flashing the 1.03 ECU & TCU tunes, then did its idle time at the coldest temp we were having currently, yeah outside in the middle of the night with my truck. Still had a surge, but not as pronounced and it is smoothing out or I'm adjusting quicker.

While u guys are having this "tip/surge" problem, I'm here trying to kill my 87 tank that I'm Mistaking pump... And i swear, it takes forever to empty!

I find it weird that I'm now only getting 13mpg on high way with 87 tune. I was getting average 16mpg on 1.02 and new 1.03 91 tune. And this is the same commute i take to work...

    You driving any faster?

The extra throttle allowed in those higher gears lets me cruise on the highway a lot faster than I used to be able to with very little effort. My gas mileage certainly takes a hit because of it and I have to catch myself from speeding. When I watch my speed my gas mileage has improved both downhill and uphill.

That is strange. Mine is stock running the 87 tune and my mileage has improved if I drive it like before the tune. But what fun is that, so my mileage is up & down right now

Yes... but I don’t mind. It shifts at about 40 mph and then just cruises. If i keep it around 40-50 mph I get crazy good mpg

I'm getting as good or slightly better mpg. Stock tire size. I drive 100 miles per day at 75 mph. Getting right at 20 mpg. It no longer down shifts on overpasses and if it does (b/c of wind) it shifts as expected and not down to 4th any more.. yay!

No I have adjusted to it. I didn’t even worry about on the slippery stuff. I was on 245’s now I’m on 265/75/16. Fox 2.5 dcs. 1 inch lift front and about 2 rear.

I read some post previously about Matt maybe calibrating tune to his 265’s.

After driving same tune with two different sizes my preference would be for the smaller tires. Better acceleration and was able to pull hills in 5th where now I’m in forth with the bigger meats. Typical undergearing for larger tires.
Tip in was about the same feel to me.

Like someone else said, my brain and foot are now recalibrated.

I wonder if Matt has talked to Weddle Enginering about regearing the trans and making it close ratio in 4,5,6! Maybe that’s his secret. :fingerscrossed:

I think Mat did this on purpose for 1.03 and I like it, because on 1.02 the truck would shift from 3rd to 4th too early and then you were sitting at 1100rpm with no power.
