To the guys running 33 inch tires on their second gen 5 lug (or just someone who knows), what is it that makes the tires so hard to fit? Is it the height or the width? I may be getting a set of 295/70r17 tires from my brother (near the same height, but around 11.5 inches wide). What sort of modifications do you guys think would be necessary? I already have the 3” spacer lift and a fat bob’s short AAL installed. Thank you for the help!

Got a lot of stuff lol
I have almost the exact set up you do except I also have a shackle flip. The issue I see the most is the fenders rub if you don't have the proper rims. I had rims with a -44 offset and the tires would not fit. My new rims have a -13 offset. I know some people have 0 offset but I've heard mixed things about rubbing occasionally on suspension parts.
The best numbers I think are
    4" bs
    -13offset

Even with this you will rub at some point. For me it's in the front under full compression (after jumping) and in the rear when I flex to hard because of the shackle flip. Daily driving is fine its just when you start to pushing it you may hear a slight noise hear and there.

You will need to trim some of the wheel well linear and use a hammer to roll over a pinch weld. Still worth it for me, the tires change the truck so much.

Thank you! Right now I have oem 17” camry rims that have something like a +45 offset, but I have 1” wheel spacers. Do you recommend getting aftermarket rims?

YES! If you want 33s you'll need wheels with the proper offsets/backspacing. I would honestly ditch the spacers.

I’ll look into getting some aftermarket rims then. Do you have any recommendations for 17” rims?
