    2016 DBL TRD OFF ROAD
hi all, I’m hoping you guys can help. I have a TRD off road 2016 with 31k miles. My truck has been in several times for various issues. Fan bearing, head unit resetting, leaf springs, whistling noise in cab. I’ve had it in 3x for the whistle noise and the leaf springs over the past 10 months. The first time they said they fixed the leaf springs with a silencer pad and they couldn’t hear the whistle noise. I came back because the squeaking returned and wanted them to fix the whistle noise. They said they didn’t hear anything with the leaf springs, then plugged some holes in the control arms to fix the whistling noise. Neither have been fixed! I drove in one time just to show them that if I drop the bed and get on the tailgate it squeaks horribly. Yesterday I went in again and they told me that the whistle noise was normal (even though they rode with me and said they could hear it) and that there was nothing wrong with the leaf springs besides having salt and sand that they power washed and they said the problem went away. They said that they would submit it to corporate or something. I drove off and by the time I got to work (3 miles) the squeaking returned. I drove back on lunch break so I could show them that the power washing didn’t fix anything and they refused to document that I stopped in. The manager said that he would not open a ticket because of it needing to go to corporate and he told me that it must have gotten salt and sand in it again when I left. I told him 6 miles! And to write down the mileage and he refused. I had to call Toyota to get them involved. Now there is supposed to be someone calling me to fix this. Has anyone navigated anything like this before? Any guidance would be helpful.

show them the TSB that is shared in this thread. the whistling is from leaf springs so you might get both problems solved in one go.

Corporate is your best friend! Once you get a call from a case manager make sure to get his name and extension and everytime the dealer gives you the runaround call and some how magically the dealer starts finding things wrong and warranty repairs begin to happen and if your lucky you might even get a free extended warranty just like I did

Thank you so much!!! I’m going to try and get an extended warranty for sure. Too many times to the dealer for me. I love my Taco, but these two problems suck so bad.
