A good slide hammer makes CVs a breeze. Of course that's $100 price tag roughly. Good seal puller tho

Make sure you've got the 35mm axle nut socket, I've been trying to find one to keep in my truck since last weekend happened and I can't find one anywhere; none of the hardware stores carry them and even the auto parts store only rents it out. Weird, but you can order them online easily.

    Skip the prybars and pullers.

Put a cold chisel/flat punch on one of the 3 flat sections of the CV by the diff. One hit with a hammer and it pops out.

35mm :gossip: agree on the LBJ bolts, I couldn't find the torque specs on them when we were on the trail doing the swap, but 60 ft/lbs with some blue thread locker worked well. They weren't super hard to break loose so I don't think they were over 60

I leave the big maintenance manual in my truck at all times. No need to Google torque specs for me such a nice thing to have honestly

Can you accomplish that with the skids on though? I've seen someone do it with a slide hammer and bailing wire on the CV that looked interesting.

I left my budbilt skid on when doing mine because the last thing I wanted to do was to have to drop that heavy fucker in the snow, we were able to work around it to get the axle out but it would have been easier if it were off for sure.

No. Valid point. Skids have to be off to do that.

Too hot in AZ during the summer to not have tint for me! That looks good though, it's like there's nothing even there.

The spec for the 4 mounting bolts is 59 ft.lbs. And a 35 or 36mm or 1 3/8" socket will work on the axle nut.

Well I thought I had the truck all figured out last night but today it seems to want to idle a bit rough and was throwing a P0171 code that I have since cleared and hasn’t come back yet but who knows when it’ll pop back up if it ever does.

Going for another extraction to try and de smell this thing. Only downside of buying a junker to make a wheeler. Thing smells okay most if the time but around 80degrees it picks up another funk.

When I had a P0171 it would always come back within 100 miles of driving every time I cleared it after trying something to make it go away. It's almost always a vacuum leak that triggers that code, or an issue with the MAF sensor.
