I have a dumb question I hope someone can answer. Am I drawing power from the accessory socket when my device/phone is not plugged in to it? The reason I ask is I have the usb adapter plugged in and a little light on that stays on even after i unplug my phone. Do i have to unplug the adapter as well? I keep it in the socket in the center console.

yeah, it's drawing power to that little light. That's way less than what your phone pulls

Shouldn't be a problem when you turn the truck off though. The sockets don't stay on after you kill the engine / battery

Instead of using a power supply why dont you use the usb port in the console?? Just an idea.... its has decent power will charge your phone pretty quickly.

I have use that one. But I liked the idea of having the charging cable hidden in the console.
