Filling in fog light holes

So crazy thought, I have 09 base reg cab. Instead of getting nutty with lights, has anyone ever filled in the fog light hole with some sort of expanding foam and then wrapping/painting the bumper?

Thinking of doing this while I'm stuck overseas for two years.

 

Do you not have the stock plugs in place?

 

I’d fill em with fogs.

 

I'm putting LED spots in mine. I'll have no use for the plastic fillers. That's why I asked.

 

don't you have bezels that already cover the hole? or am I missing something

 

Sounds to me like OP wants to make the entire area smooth like a roll pan but for the front.

If that’s the case, I’d say fiberglass.

 

Don't care what you choose to do, but am curious why you want to do it, and what being overseas has to do with it?

Yes that is the case.

So I had HID fogs on myX-Runner and they were good for 2008. Ten years later, LED bars are so cheap and common that it makes sense to me throw a 30/40” light bar in the bumper slot.

I have a 2013 Raptor that was my daily driver until I got this base cab. The Tacoma will never see dirt, and will be more of a daily driver/street truck.

I won’t be off-roading overseas and won’t have my raptor. This truck will get me through two years with minor mods and eventually wrapping it while I’m bored. Hence why I want to fill the fog light holes and yes I have the factory plugs.

 

Ps. I also had HID projectors on the way for the headlights, so fogs aren’t that necessary.

 

Fill them up with some foam and shape it smooth. Then fiber glass resin and finish sand. May have to ruff up the inside so the foam sticks. Your truck so you choose how you want it to look.
