Spotted this guy in Fremont yesterday. Looked like an Off-road prerunner... Had a stealth logo on the windshield, bed rack and a tepui tent. I see this guy every other week.

2 guys try breaking into my truck. neighbor runs to get me. sprint to truck (left the boomstick in the livingroom -_- )guys take off on bikes while i chase them on foot. cops show up. i give description and they go searching. no luck as of now but i've seen them around the neighborhood a few times. i got absolutely everything out of my truck. resorted to "go bag" style bags for the things i need/want in the truck. folder in glove box with all my papers that i will bring with/take out of truck each day. and same for center console. my girl is finally on board with a dashcam.. what a fucking day. on a good note, figured out a way to mount my compressor and have a nice camp/fish trip planned in 2 weeks.



next time for sure...

 

Go bags for daily items are a thing when driving around the bay now. 30k break-ins in SF alone last year, think i read a stat that there has only been 8 prosecutions in 13 years. Leave nothing of value in your vehicle, carry a pack. When I lived in SF i was smash and grabbed several times. They even took the owners manual. A-holes.

Why is it not ok to just get rid of people who steal or cause hard to you or your belongings? I don't get it. We're supposed to be able to protect ourselves and our property but that to is illegal.
I don't understand this country much anymore.

 

yeah, talked with one officer for a while. got to talking about me wishing i had brought a firearm out with me. he said its a slippery slope because i could still get fucked for it even though they were attempting to break into the truck. i told him "well how am i supposed to defend myself if they were to have weapons?" his response "stay inside and let us handle it next time" HAHAHHAHA no way in hell buddy. im not waiting the 6+ minutes for you to show up while they steal my shit and leave with no issues

 

Right?! There's a twenty plus minute wait here. We as neighbors have decided to allow the PD and SD to just stay out of it . We gather together and handle it now!

 

Well.. here’s my thing.

If someone comes into my home, I don’t really care what they’re there for - they’re entering a protected space. I’ll defend my family to the full extent necessary.

If someone wants to break a window and take an iPod or steal my car, what do I really care? It’s fucked up, and it’s a massive inconvenience.. but I have insurance that’s paid monthly just for that occasion. I don’t care for thieves or criminals anymore than the next guy, but there is absolutely no fucking rational way to think that any personal property is worth more than someone else’s life. It sounds more cool than it really is, and I’m not spending the rest of my life with the mental and emotional toll that is ending a life, particularly over something trivial and materialistic.

If y’all want to play cowboy in your driveways, point that shit away from your neighbors and your neighbors kids.

The only acceptable reason to kill another human is to save one, IMO. Fuck all of that other shit. Nothing else is that important in life.
