I have a 2016 Tacoma Limited. It has the stock wheels and tires, stock height as well. My TPMS sensor started coming in first thing in the morning when it’s cold and would eventually go away once I would drive for 5-10 minutes. I had my service department check it out (I work at a dealership, not Toyota) and they said all the pressures were fine and it was going off because of the cold. Few days later, kept doing the same thing so I had them drop the spare and check that... Pressure was fine. Now, the light is on all the time. I physically checked the pressure myself and they’re all even, light is always on. Should I take it to Toyota and have them replace my sensor? Anyone else have this annoying problem?

When outside temp is cold like below 30's or snowing the lights will comes on and eventually will turn off after few minutes or so but in your case... IMO i'll take it back to the dealer n let them replace the TMPS. Your truck is still new n you might have a bad sensor.. :notsure:.... Welcome to TW! :hattip:

When you start the vehicle up, does the TPMS light flash for ~1 minute or does it immediately go solid?

What are your pressures? The light comes on when they are about 7psi lower than the threshold. If your threshold pressure is 35psi, then they’ll come on around 28psi. If the light is flashing then stays solid, you have a broken/dead sensor.

I had the spare checked and it is the same psi as the other 4. It stays on solid when I turn my truck on.

Hmm - a solid light indicates a pressure related issue, at least in most cases. What pressure are you running?

A solid light can also mean the sensor isn't being read by the computer. Same as a dead/low battery in the sensor. If it's new, get the dealer to replace it under warranty. The other option is to learn to ignore it.

I had a new set of tires installed today, my TPMS were all functioning normally before the change, but now my panel light is on. The tire installer used his reader and determined which sensor is bad. He says they last about 6-8 years, batteries aren't replaceable in the sensor, so it has to be replaced. I routinely check my pressures anyway, I'm choosing to ignore the light. I may add a bit of air and see if the increased pressure does anything.

I was driving yesterday, and my TPMS light went off. I had tried a reset the day before, using the procedure outlined in the OM, but the light never flashed, so I figured at least one of the sensors was toast.
