You: "Look honey! I bought you a new oven!!"

    Her: "Why?" *skeptical Look*

You: "I bought myself custom headlights and figured it was only fair if I got you something too."

    Her: "What's that smell?"

You: "Oh. The new oven has to be used a couple times to break in before we put food in it. "

Glad all worked out ultimately. You have GOT to update us when wife gets home Wednesday if you still have internet privileges...also, this whole incident brought this to mind.

Take the advice of the so called hater's (2nd gen) that have done this for years without setting the oven or house on fire.

Seen a few that left them too long and melted the plastic some. This is the first full on fire. Unless you count @chris4x4 doing any mod.

I thought Chris started the fire trying to combat spiders?

I’m thinking, those lights are a little too smoky.

Air Force huh? j/k we used to do Chiefs initiation at the Delta Force Compound in Fayettenam for the SEALs in Delta Force, so a standing joke between us. Glad it turned out OK, well somewhat OK. You retire from the service and want a job documenting let me know pretty sure I can get you in. That is dedication to duty if there ever was such a thing. Good luck with the Chief of Staff on Wednesday but sounds like it shouldn't be a problem. Show her the pics and documentation that would work for me. But I'm not your Chief of Staff.

It does, but measured in Celsius which is just a bit over 300° Fahrenheit not sure exactly without doing the calculations. But oily cotton rags will auto ignite at much lower temperatures. My money is on dryer sheets and or fabric softeners lowering the combustion point even more than 300°. But it is not uncommon for ovens to be off 50 degrees or more though.
