So I see an add on Craigslist for Trd rims and hardly used 265/70/16 tires. Rims look mint and so did tires. Mounted them and it feels like a small bump in my rear driver side. So disgusted with myself I've never bought used tires in my 58 years. I'm gonna rotate the back driver side to front and see if it follows. The faster I went it seemed less or not at all I don't know if that means anything. Plus I'm wondering if my mind is playing tricks with me. Worse case I'll put old tires and rims back on and see if my mind is playing with me. Any other suggestions appreciated. Never again. Thanks tw

Any time you buy used wheels or tires, it pays to take them to a tire shop and see if they run true and are balanced.

Most likely needs to be balanced, worst case scenario the wheel is bent.

Always a risk buying on Craigslist...... if you don’t know which one of you is the sucker in the deal, then it’s you.

Do you have the correct lug nuts for aluminum wheels?

I doubt the wheel is bent. It is either not mounted correctly, the tire is goofy or the whole thing is out of balance.

I have sold and bought good stuff on CL, at good or at least fair prices, not that there are not shady characters about.

Hopefully it’s just out of balance. The shop may have over torqued the lugs. That actually happened to me.

He may have taken the tpms out of the wheel, had the tire remounted but not balanced?

If you live in the rust belt, you may need to wire brush anywhere that the wheel makes contact with the disc or drum. Correct lug nuts are very important, don't trust what someone gave you.
    Try the simple stuff first!

Tpms are still in there. They are off a 2014. Paid 550.00 . How do I transfer a Craigslist ad to this site. He ad is still up its in Philadelphia craigslist under Tacoma tires. It will be labeled buckingham. If someone can put it on site that would be great. Tia

What good will putting the ad here do? Anything you buy on Craigslist is "as-is" unless you have a warranty/guarantee type of agreement in writing, even then you are unlikely to be able to get any kind of remedy worked out. Find out what the problem is, then go from there. You need to stop by a tire shop and let them have a look.

Just cut your loses. If you figure out you got screwed, just let it go and caulk it up to lesson learned.

I agree but would apply anti-seize to the area that makes contact with the disc or drum after removing the rust too.
