Truck did not come with any sort of wiring harness for a trailer. Last year I put a receiver and an aftermarket 4 pin connector on it that is plug in play from the tail lights. QUESTION: Is there any way to splice a 7 pin connector into the after market wiring of the 4 pin or will I need an OEM harness for the 7 pin? My trailer requires a 7 pin flat.

Picture is of the 7 pin adapter I bought

I would think you need the OEM harness connector for the 12v and brake controller.
