Just a helpful hint for Ovtune users.
Yesterday I was trying to do some data logging on rear diff lock, and I couldn't find my Techstream cable, so I thought 'Well I will just try my Ovtune cable, see what happens'

Worked perfectly. Just needed to select the appropriate driver/cable in Techstream setup.
So if you have the tune kit, all you need is an appropriate copy of Techstream on your computer and you are good to go.

For anyone wondering if you can use Virtualbox on a mac to do this...yes, easily and it's free. But it's going to be really laggy if you don't give the VM at least 4GB of RAM and 2 processor cores to work with. I think it defaults to 2GB and 1 core which is gonna suck.

Gotta understand you're running a whole second virtual machine on top of your mac so you need enough RAM to support both. I have 16GB in mine so giving 4 to the VM isn't a big deal but if you only have 4 to start with you're gonna have problems obviously.

This doesn't matter with Bootcamp because you're only ever running Windows or OSX in that scenario, not both.




Also you have to add the dongle and OBDII USB devices in the Ports/USB settings (green + icon on this page) for it to pick them up.

 

Anyone ever get there License key on a Sunday? Does Mat take Sunday's off for a little R&R? Dont want to be glued to the computer all day waiting for email.

So maybe I am a tad confused. Does the kit not come with the links to the drivers...as in you pull them from this thread, or is it just some people having issues downloading the drivers via the links in the kit? Forgive the redundancy of mentioned, my anticipation is getting the better of me

 

Read the instructions. All downloads are provided via flash manager.

 

Is there an updated instructions available w/out the registration?
