After replacing my stock rims and using the original tires I notice slight offset on the passenger rear wheel. I changed it to a 17x9 with a offset of 10. The right side wheel with the 265/65/17 stick out about a 1.5” more F5CFBE7C-6F80-4C8A-8765-CA6FEDD4E767.jpg D15C01C9-1A05-4028-A398-F79B6BEFF549.jpg than the driver side, what can cause this or fix it

The bed is not aligned, loosen six bolt T55 torx, and adjust. May need to adjust bumper skins as well afterwards...........Or let dealer handle.

Yep, it's the bed. Not the axle.

Mine was misaligned from the factory, noticed it the day I brought it home. Easy fix with a T55 torx bit to the 6 bed bolts.

If you got that conclusion by measuring from the some relative point, like the leaf spring edge to the backing plate, please share the numbers.

If you got that conclusion from looking, adjust your crooked bed. If you look between the cab and bed front it won't be even there either.

I say don't touch it, take it to toyota and have them re align the bed.

Nice to think about if you have 1/2 a day to sit around.

You can DIY in less time than it takes to make an appointment, drop off and pick up.

Two people (for two sets of hands/eyes/tape measures) make it easy peasy.

I go when its time for service, and I get the shuttle home everytime. I never wait. He would have to buy the tool if he didnt have it, and he shouldnt. It's toyotas fuck up, let them deal with it.

    Well, if you're not a DIY'r, sure.

All reasonable DIY'rs have had Torx sets in their tool boxes for 20 years or so.

And as far as 'going for service'. I guess, if you're going to play that game. The only time a dealership sees me again is for recall or warranty work.

I DIY'd my whole Tacoma minus the regear to 4.88, so I hear what you are saying. IMO its the principal you paid for a brand new truck, and it came with problems have them fix it. Take the free shuttle home, have a beer and wait for them to pick you up when its done.

Do you know if this can be done with bed stiffeners on or will I need to remove prior to adjusting the bed?

Do they mount to the truck frame?

No? Then yes, you can move it and leave them alone.

Do be totally honest I do not know if the bed stuffers go into the frame or not. Anywhere here shed we light on that topic?

    I really doubt they do.

But if you have a set installed just look and see.

My cab was misaligned too, dealer had to send it to a Toyota bodyshop and gave me a free rental for 3 days and to reset it. Definitely not a DIY job if it’s misaligned too much, especially if you still have a warranty.

We’ve been talking about the bed not cab (at least I have haha). The bed I did by myself. The cab would be a whole different can of worms.

Your truck is 5 years old and a second gen. OP's truck is new and has a warranty. He should use it. He paid for it. Once my truck is out of warranty, I agree with you. He paid for the "free" service, he should utilize it.

Anyone know if you have to keep the bed aligned front to back with the cab or the best method to keep it even with the cab
