    Cleaned up the front bumper a bit, cut a few inches out of the frame horns and closed up the holes in the mounting bracket.

    ^before you can see the frame horns coming through the mount


    Now after nice flat surface ready for some recovery points

    Reinforce the rear bumper, I used the stock exhaust hanger location for the mounts so everything is still bolt on.

    @lukester78 @Speedytech7 you can undo either side, but I plan on using the passenger side as the pivot side. plan on adding jerry cans in the near future.

    For now pins will do, end game is to have it enclose the bed like a normal tail gate. Maybe I’ll make the solid panel fold down to a shelf

    That's a perfect way to have it close of and be functional. I like it, seems a lot stronger than a typical swingout, how is it attached to the end of the bed though?

    3 fasterns on each side I reused the factory locations, I can still used the fourth on the bottom ( pivot point for the stock tail gate) or I can go another route and weld the base to the bumper.

    So lot of options

    I don't think you'd gain a whole bunch of strength by welding to the sheet metal but running a bolt to that strong point where the tailgate hinges would be good

    Welding to sheet metal? I meant welding the base of the posts to the top of the bumper.

    Repositioned the tire higher gave it a slight tilt forward for clearance
