The time spent people being dicks with new members on the forum can be put into directing them to the right thread or helping them achieve their goals. This is why majority of the time new people come on here once and then leave 30 mins later and never come back.

Thanks guys for at least trying to help. No sarcasm

But the loft jokes are funny

If it weren't for HUNDREDS of these same threads and at least two of them are posted per day, people may not be dicks about it...it's really not that hard to take some initiative and search before just making a post "recommend me a lift" without giving any details.

FFS it isn't that complicated to go to Google and search for "Lift kit recommendations for Tacoma". I guess some people are just too lazy and want shit handed to them.

Actually sometimes it can be hard. These HUNDREDS of people asking this same question all come up in searches. You have to wade through them all trying to find where someone actually answers the question. Most of them just tell the person to use the search function. Because sooo many people have been lazy and not used the search function has made the search function a lot less useful, and therefore more people ask the same question. It's a vicious circle.

True. But have you tried using the search function? It's rough lol that's why now I recommend people asking their question then putting Tacomaworld on Google

Do you want a lift, or do you want suspension?

There is a huge difference in toying with someone that made very little effort to support their one lined question and just being a dick as so eloquently put.

Sure the search function can be a bit daunting to wade through, but it will at least get a guy something to start with.

Say I just decided I needed a winch for some reason. I could just light up a new thread asking "what winch should I get?"

Or, take a few mins, hours, or days and read some threads here. Look at truck build paged that are similar in generation as mine.

Maybe after gaining some ideas as to what kinds of winches are being used by others here, I would research more on those particular winches to see if I can make some articulated thoughts on one or more of them.

Once I have a simple breakdown on what is available, as well as what I've found being popular, I could pose a better detailed question on specific winches. Something like why one is better than another? Or, what features am I giving up going with A instead of B? Whats been the experience with winch A and its overall use and reliability?

And throw in some specifics on my truck, my intended use of the winch and maybe some budget related info. This would probably net me a better answer than to use the "search" function.

I am using it to get around the island here in Hawaii. I use it for work ,camping ,and beach access. I use my truck. it is capable, but I want bigger tires so I don’t damage my undercarriage any more than I already have. I will be installing myself DIY

Usually a popular choice here is Bilstein 5100 shocks up front with an OME spring set up. The lift ranges from 0” to 2.5” without having to replace your upper control arms for alignment and proper geometry. As for the back an Add A Leaf is popular along with the same 5100 bilstein shocks. This setup could run you around $600-$700 roughly. It may be cheaper or more expensive depending on where you buy them. I know you want 3” but most will agree that 2.5” is the max you can lift without UCA. At 2.5” in the front 33” tires will fit with slight to no rubbing. Hope it helps. Like some of the guys here have suggested Marie at @HeadStrong Off-Road or @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc would be great reputable venders that can help you navigate your lift venture. Hope it helps.

No problem! Glad I could help.

Word of advice, try to avoid the spacer lifts. I know you may be tempted as it may be $100 to get you lifted but your truck will ride rough and it will cause premature wear on your suspension. Save yourself the headaches and get you a good set up from the get go. Also, those venders i mentioned can ship your springs assembled onto the shock already. It makes your installation a DIY in a few hours without the need to go to a shop.

Lifted access cabs on 33”s look sexy BTW!
