Depends on how you mount the antenna. Mines mounted with the magnet to the roof and I pick up people all over if I'm on the common channel at events. My dad's is mounted to his cage with the magnet and is a little less distance and our buddy has his mounted to his bumper with a screw on mount and is about to equal to my dad's. They definitely work better than the cbs and are fairly cheap as we got them on black Friday. But have also been using the race radios for years and probably won't go back now

Yeah I want to rip out my CB but literally everyone on TW in the northwest uses CB, except for my usual wheeling group whom i've convinced to go to race radios.

But thats good I was going to use the magnetic mount to my roof, so glad that works really well.

Make sure the antenna is far enough back and not to much over head the actual radio. Tech guy thinks that was part of my static problem as well. We could never get good range out of the cbs and that's the reason why we ditched them lol. And I didn't want 2 radios cluttering up the cab

Yeah thats my predicament... Might just unplug the CB and store if under the seat and be able to just plug it in when I run trails with the NW guys, but keep my rugged out the rest of the time

Since these aren't HAM and arent CBs, everyone in the group has to have one of these RRs/Chinese RRs?

Yup. Well technically they are ham but the pre programmed channels are not in the ham frequencies. They are so much better than cb’s though it’s incredible.

The only difference is color, but also rugged pre programs channels into theirs. This you have to program by yourself. But all the pre programmed ones are “bfg pits” and different ultra 4 channels

I only considered handheld since i didnt want a fulltime rig in my land cruiser.

A quick look turned up this one and several others further down the page. Good luck!

Hmm depends. Do you want a mud terrain or all terrain tire? Mud terrain is typically louder, not as good road manners (in my opinion its hardly noticeable but its what people say), heavier/worse mileage but perform better off road.

@NateMob Frame was cut just before the last cross bar/very back of the frame and angled at 45 degrees. Then also side supports on each side
