Anyone know of an indicator light for the brights indicator that isn’t so f-ing bright? I took the electrical tape off from in front of it because i hate the way it looks. Put the tape back on immediately after the first tome I hit the brights switch

 

don't use an LED bulb?


I've never switched that particular bulb so I've never had an issue.

 

Not led. Original bulb. way too bright

 

what to tell ya then. if it's too bright then use the dimmer to make it less bright?

you could maybe source out a bulb that's lower or use a bulb cover (condom) in white/frost for the size to diffuse

idk, unless you are staring directly at it it's actually one of the lesser bright bulbs.

 

I run down the highway and backroads with my dimmer all of the way down to where the dash lights are off (easier to see deer). The brights indicator is blinding when there’s no light. Its intolerable for my eyes. It would be really cool to run it through the dimmer, but I’m not sure that would be possible without putting a relay behind the dash. Seems a little excessive.

 

oh my bad, I thought they all went through the dimmer, shows how much I notice it

You must be tall/short enough to have direct line of sight for the indicator and most people rarely ever complain about it.

another option is to pull the cluster and use some "smoke" covering/paint to put over that particular indicator to lessen the light output. I doubt they make less wattage bulbs as they are pretty low to begin with

 

I might try a few of those things, but I’m leaning towards just pulling the bulb. It’s pretty easy to tell when they’re on without the idiot light.
