Could be the ABS kicking in since you're all outta whack (VSC takes over). There's many a threads on here about it and possibly solutions. Up top on the right there is a search box. It's yo friend.

Hey guys, currently running a 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Lift and I'm looking into getting a 3" Spindle Lift from Solo Motorsports. I am not entirely knowledgeable quite yet with mods but I know that a spindle seems to be the way to go. My question is, if I do order the spindle lift and apply it...would this overall give me 5.5" total lift on the truck? Thanks for the help and any additional advice you may have!

    None....yet.
Can put a 1/4 spacer on top of a 2'' if I am only adding the two inch leveling spacers to the front? I will still have a lean after the two inches. So I am trying to figure out if I can put the 1/4 on too. If this is a dumb question...i'm sorry haha

I'm about to install some 5100s all around. I will be using stock coils for now, but I have a set of 3rd get Off-Road coils and a set of 2nd Gen Off-Road coils that I can install on them. Which ones should I choose? I have a 2nd gen Tacoma.

I am currently running 3rd gen suspenison on my 2nd gen because it leveled out the truck and was free. Just wondering which ones to put on the bilsteins.

    Thanks

Hey guys. I have a few questions before lifting my truck. Still contemplating some options but leaning towards:

ICON 2.5 Extended coilovers up front with the standard 650lb coils
    ICON 2.0 Extended rear shocks
OME Medium Duty Dakar leaf pack

I got some SPC LR UCAs cheap and plan on installing those to accommodate the extra droop from the extended coilovers and make alignment easier.

I would like to get 3-3.5" of lift. While it is advertised that these coilovers are adjustable for 0-3.5" of lift, I have heard that the ride quality can be reduced if you crank them all the way up to achieve the full 3.5". In fact, when I called ICON, they said that they ship the coilovers at 1.25" lift setting and confirmed that the ride quality can be diminished the more preload you add to the coil.

I was planning on installing the rear lift and then adjusting the front until it looks good (I would like the front to sit just a touch lower or dead even with the rear). Since the OME Dakar chart shows ~2.75" lift in the rear, I figure that I will want to be around 2.75-3.25" in the front but who knows.

    My questions are:

Can I use top-plate spacers in conjunction with the coilovers up front to achieve the desired lift and maintain ride quality (less preload on coils).

I have the stock 16" rims with 265/70/16s. Was thinking about upgrading to 265/75/16s. Anyone running a similar setup? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

With the fact that you have an extended coilover I am not sure you can use a top plate spacer. Also the ICON top plate design is different then others so not sure you could fit one on there. I suggest you source a 14" 650lb spring from KING or Eibach which is longer then your 13" spring (stock length for ICON) and should provide more lift. Although I will comment that anything over 3 inches of lift with ride horribly and you run the risk of binding the CV axle.

Thanks for the response. I spoke to ICON and they also advised against a top plate spacer since it would increase the angle between the UCA and lead to more impulses being transferred into the frame through the arm instead of into the shock. Best to keep the arms as parallel to the ground as possible for best ride. Therefore, it seems that I really wouldn't be able to achieve 3-3.5" with the ICONS w/o sacrificing ride quality. Maybe I should be shooting for somewhere around 2.5-2.75".

Why do you say anything over 3" could bind the cv axle? just because of the increased angle?

CV axles have a max working angle. When you get into 3+ lift numbers you max out that number.

2.5" is good to shoot for. Can fit 35s. Not sure why anyone with IFS would want bigger than those.

Hey guys I wanted to know if you get an extra lift putting 5 lug leaf springs on a 6 lug. Has it been done before or anyone tried it?

Forgive me for not reading through all of this but could someone with more experience answer this for me? If I put 5100's on the front to level it, can I put ~32" tires on it? I'm looking at BFG AT/TA 265/60/18 which are 31.4" in diameter. Will I need new needle bearings and will I have any rubbing? Putting this on an '18 TRD Sport DCLB.

    Not much stock left.
Rubbing no, and not likely with the needle bearing, if your just leveling it.

Tacoma Lift Info.jpg I compiled this chart from various sources for extended and collapsed lengths of front and rear CO/shock options. These are mainly for 05-15 tacomas (2nd gen). I had a .xlsm file which had all of the hyperlinks working but unfortunately I can't upload that file type to TacomaWorld so here is a screenshot of the chart. Figured it might be useful to others.

    Hello Everyone!
I've had my '17 Tacoma for about 18 months now and I'm finally looking into getting some upgrades.

The primary upgrade is a new ARB Bumper w/ winch, which will add about 250 lbs to the front end of the truck.

Additionally, I'd like to add skids, possibly a steel back bumper, and properly lift the truck at least 2-3" for better clearance (also enhanced badassery).

Truck uses involve off-roading, towing, heavy loading, highway drives, and it is my daily driver. I am looking for a way to upgrade the truck for off-road without affecting its towing/hauling or highway driving comfort and capabilities.

I currently know very little about suspension, but I am working on educating myself on suspension components and market options.

So far I know that I will need to get new UCA's (Upper Control Arms) to maintain proper Camber and Caster?(idk what this is) angles... something about wandering at higher speeds?

I've also learned that the Rake (front end lower than back) is important for hauling and towing, and should not be infringed upon. So lift in the front needs to be less or equal to lift in the back.

I know that spacers and blocks are for a concrete princess, not for an off-road vehicle, so I do not plan on using any of those OR preloading any of my springs/shocks.

I am still trying to figure out valving and digressive vs progressive

Please let me know of anything else that I need to take into consideration when choosing suspension upgrades. Tips and definitions on suspension vocabulary is greatly appreciated!!!
I am still waiting on a PM from Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road, everyone has been referring me to her.
