007 TACO PRO ....

Woot!

 

Man this was a huge victory in clearing the dash lights !

Only lights on now are the TPS and the low fuel light

 

2007 re build

New rear wheel cylinder, had to install new bolts and cut them to length. Put a nut on first and cut after the nut as this will clean the threads up backing the nut off.

New hand brake cable installed and ran to cab, new cable had no brackets on it so I had to reuse the old ones. Few brackets were losse on the new cable. Slop will wear the housing off the cable and allow water to get in. So I took some fuel line and split it and warped the new cable.
I cleaned up all the brake parts (no picture) there had to be no brakes on the back of this truck. Ran out of steam will have to finish brakes tonight

We are in the middle of a snow storm changing to rain storm = $hit storm ugh

 

Need to get rid of that P light for a D light! Rebuild is having a nice progress!

Parker is doing good no more belly problems like he was having, doing all the normal baby stuff and growing and growing and growing !

My wife took this picture yesterday and sent it to me, saying he was getting ready to get on his dirt bike ....

install new brake shoes

hook up hand brake cable in cab
buy new hard line and run from wheel cylinder to flex
install new flex

Passengers side
Remove side axle replace seal & o ring
Clean up parts to be reused
install new wheel cylinder
install new brake shoes
remove and install new hand brake cable
buy new hard line and run from wheel cylinder to flex
install new flex

Other Drive Train
pinion seal
Change front Diff oil
Change rear end oil

Engine
replace all Idler pulleys and belt
Change spark plugs
Change engine oil and filter

Other
reassemble cab trim parts removed
Remove tono cover
Install new front Diff seals
Install front lift with new shocks
Install rear extra leaf
Change two front tires to 16'' to match the back
install front light bar
back rack
fix tailgate with angle

Had a Tacoma day but not a good one ....

Started with a bit of welding on a job box I got. The piano hinge needed to be tack welded back on the top and I gave the fresh welds a lick of paint.

Added the tool tray back in and put it in the back of red tacoma. I filled up the back of the 1st gen with all the un needed 2nd gen parts and other crap I had kicking around at work.

 

That hair!

 

It goes down hill.

 

Did all the dirty work cleaned up so I could finish off installing the hand brake cable inside the cab.

Sweet f...ing potato’s

The cable I ordered from parts monkey is the wrong length. Holy chocolate chips......

Parts monkey is a online parts supplier but I called them to place the order to make sure I would receive the right parts.

This gets better I flip out as the whole day is now shot and what I have done needs to come apart again. I call around to local parts places no cable in stock.

Then I search the shop for the old one, ended up dumpster diving with a shovel digging and digging through weeks of garbage

I guess throwing baby P full diaper genie bags in there so they would not stink up the house was NOT a good idea

 

Decided to remove bed cover and size up back rack fitment. This came from a full-size truck so I took the chance. Going to move the mounting brackets over and see if the 1” on the hoop bothers me enough to chop it and re weld


Thoughts ?

Did you try swapping those brackets side to side so you don't have to drill?
