I searched but all I found was info. pertaining to turd gens. Is there a fuse spot in the panel under the dash that's not being used & is a constant hot? If not, is there a convenient constant on wire under the dash so I can do the inverter constant on mod? Thanks.

That mod does the 400W all the time.
I'm wanting to make the inverter work without the key in the ignition.
I'd like to use a fuse tap and tap into one of the fuses (that's the sole purpose of my post!), but which one do I tap into?
    Thanks.

There's 2 fuse slots, both already being used, in the fuse panel behind the change holder that are constant hot. In the photo, it's the one that says PWR OUTLET 15A and the one that says DR LOCK 20A. I'll use one of these to do the always on mod for the inverter.

That's the exact device I plan on using. Keeps things nice & clean, no splicing of factory wires (which I can't stand) plus it's cheap!

The tail light and door lock fuses should have juice to them 24/7. You can use a voltmeter to locate other possible sources. Remember to connect your fuse tap in the side of the power source, not the side to the accessory.

I'm not actually powering the factory inverter with it. It's just the trigger wire for the switch and to make the inverter think the key is turned on. All the factory wires I'll be messing with are 18 or 20 gauge. Thanks for looking out, though!

Gotcha. May I suggest a pop-in volt meter for one of the power ports to monitor voltage, assuming you have constant-on power. This, to monitor voltage drop because inverters quickly drain batteries.

On my 80 I went all out with double batteries, plugs everywhere, crazy wiring, 3 volt meters (1 under hood, 1 front console, 1 rear compartment), etc. I'm not going that crazy on this. I'll definitely get a bolt meter where I can keep an eye on it! I've read the inverter will cut off when battery gets down to 12V's. Any idea if that's true?

I think the suggestion of volt meter is a good one. 12.7V is fully charged. I think 11.8V is stone dead. If the cut off is 12V, that is cutting it close.

I just started my FZJ80 at 11.4V and it's a lot harder to crank than these Taco's. I'll be getting a VM on it and keeping my eye on it. Thanks!
