Fixing crap on my 2004 Tacoma with 188k miles, opinions wanted . . .

Been thinking about fixing some of the age related problems on my 2004 Tacoma. Keep in mind its an always southern Nashville truck, zero rust.


5 LUG MODEL/2WD/REG CAB/SHORT BED/2.4 LITER 4 CYLINDER/5 SPEED MODEL

IT IS THE LOW RIDE HEIGHT MODEL, NOT A 4WD OR PRERUNNER.

Please read the bold before you reply. Truck has 188,000 miles on it right now. I really do love this truck and plan to drive the wheels off it.

Anyways, there is some stuff I want to fix on it, please tell me good sources for parts . . .

Shocks, I live in the south, this thing does bounce around compared to my 1992 Lexus SC300. Put some weight in the bed, aka 200lbs of blocks/sandbags, it rides a lot nicer. I'm not sure if I should replace the shocks, but if I do, OEM or some aftermarket????

#2 Headlights. I've polished the OEM ones twice, sick of polishing them again. I'm thinking new OEM, but those are a bit pricey. Are aftermarket ones worth a crap????

#3 Front Grill, I'd like to replace it with a chrome one, as I've already replaced the front bumper and rear bumper with chrome ones. Once again is there an aftermarket grill worth a crap, or should I go OEM????

#4 Rear bumper The chrome bumper I replaced in late 2017 was rear ended yet again and has a dent it it. I personally think this truck is cursed in rear end collisions, as this is the 3rd time it has been rear ended. I'm personally thinking it isn't worth the time to replace the rear bumper because its fucking cursed when it looks mint. Still though I have $400 from the idiot the rear ended me and a new bumper is $200 or so, should I replace it and tempt fate???

#5 Sound insulate the cabin. Need some advice on good sound-proofing material.

#6 Replace door speakers. This model has the door speakers with separate tweeters. Crank windows/no power locks. What sort of speaker fits???? I have an aftermarket Pioneer double din receiver in the dash that does bluetooth and all the modern tricks.
