It's been a while since I've posted but I wanted to get some feedback from real world Tacoma owners. I've been in the wheel industry for 15 years (all of it sales) but I'm in a position to to buy a mold and have it manufactured for two different bolt patterns in the size a 17x8.5. It's likely to be a pretty simple 6 spoke with milling in certain parts of the wheel for weight reduction. They will be brought in in raw form and powder coated to order. I intend to make it flow forged so it's strong and lightweight but wanted everyone else's take on some of the attributes that would make you consider it as an option for your own truck. I know not everyone wants 17's but mold has to fit late model Ford and Chevy as well.

6 spoke OR 6 hole, on a 6 lug, just sets my OCTendancies at ease (why does that spelling look wrong?).
    Keep us posted, please.

6 huge holes, 3.5” backspace, clearance for tundra brake upgrade and...
    Here take my money!

Thanks, the little cut outs were for weight reduction. I agree though, I had some Method Roosts with similar machining and those little spots are tough to clean. Nothing is set in stone yet. Still figuring a few things out.

If I could build my own wheel I'd want the SCS Ray 10 but a real beadlock version

Well 8.5 is too wide for a wheel IMO. Wasted weight. Also needs to be 15-16” wheel by 7”.

I second a solid steelie type wheel. Maybe a spiffed up version of the spare steel wheel we get with this truck.

Make it black and has to be hubcentric.

I saw a set on a Jeep this weekend I thought was the hottest wheels Ive seen. Should have gotten a pic.

Thank you. 16's would have to come later down the road. Buying a mold can get expensive, especially when it's only a side project for now. The 17" mold would accommodate more vehicles to start (F150, Silverado, Titan etc...) and depending on how well it does I could explore other options. So not saying no, just not yet.

I absolutely love this one without those cut-outs. Could you put the cut-outs on the back side??
I have been searching everywhere for good-looking 17x8.5 wheels that are light weight and have about 4.50 back spacing.

Oh yeah...they need shallow center caps too.

While I'm being picky...I need them in black with milled edges and a milled fake-lock ring.
And I need them to come in @ 20-22lbs.
Where do I send the money??
