Hi, this is my first post on TW. I got my new rims and tires today (16×8 pro comp 32 series, Toyo open country at/2 265/75/16)

Despite the research I did on TW prior to buying, the tires are rubbing on my front mud flaps. I assume removing them will correct the problem, but I'd really hate to remove them because my new tires exceed the fenders by about 3/4"-1" and I don't want to risk damaging the paint on the doors from debris that the tires may kick up. I know the first suggestion I will get will be to lift it haha, but does anyone have any other solutions? Thanks

Heat gun or replace with RokBlokz mudflaps that don't intrude into the wheel well.

Agreed. Theres really only so many options.
    -Change tire size
    -Remove mudflaps
-go at the mudflaps with a heat gun and push them in where it rubs
    -Or aftermarket mudflaps

Aftermarket mudflaps by chance? I read some post previously that they are more prone to rub due to less clearance than OEM. I've got the Toyo AT2 265/70-17 on TRD Pro rims and OEM mudflaps - no rubbing.

Yeah, that's about what I figured. Alternatively, has anybody seen any real damage from not having flaps?

I removed my front flaps and left my back ones on. Ive done a fair amount of offroading havent had any damage. The flaps are more so for other drivers to help prevent your tires flinging rocks at peoples windows and such.

    No....

OP get rid of the Grampa Mudflaps... thank me later.

My tires stick out past the fenders... no chips been 2+ years. Take a look on your fenders there's extra tough paint there behind each tire. You prolly did more damage installing the mud flaps than you will do with no mud flaps.
