That's a big panel. I was thinking of solar but we get hail storms several times a year around here. Are they pretty tough?

 

This is what their website says:

Are you going to leave it on full time? The efficacy of solar does drop over time if micro-scratches develop on the surface.

 

Dude, I JUST put it on. Let me enjoy lmao. And yes, ill leave it on fulltime. It purposely made it removable but i dont plan to anytime soon. Plenty of trucks and RVs leave them mounted 24/7.

 

HAHAHA - ok, ok. I invested in a company a few years ago that develops robots designed to clean large solar panel arrays - knowing that scratches can impact the efficiency of solar panels is the only thing I've gotten back from that investment so far.

I probably could have waited until the new solar panel smell had worn off to share that.

Seriously though, I want one for the roof rack on mine. Super jealous right now.

 

LOL I appreciate it, but im not really worried. Its just supplemental and even when i have and am using my 2nd battery, this panel will put out 2-3 times as much as im using. Should be fine. I really just wanted the low mount so its tucked behind my light bar and close to the roof.

Where (near sleepy creek) are we meeting, and when. Since I'm near the WV border, makes sense to head that direction to meet.

Directions. The superintendant’s office is located on Sleepy Creek Rd. about ½ mile after entering the WMA. Access points are evident on the area map. All secondary roads are closed to vehicles from March 1 through August for protection of turkey nesting areas.

Did not see any signs about that? The trails looked recently used so we were not the first ones out there

 

Ok, I'm looking into it further...my buddy's son, who works with me and goes up there frequently in his jeep also said the trails are only open in the winter and close in the spring. Gotta find this out. Looking for more online. If I can't find anymore info, I may head up there tomorrow and see if it's posted
