Decided 28k miles was enough for the stock wranglers and went with a set of P265/75R16 Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. As others have mentioned, these things look even better in person. $460 for the tires through Discount Tire Direct's ebay store after the $100 discount (expires 3/19 so HURRY), $208 for mount/balance and tire certs so roughly $683 all-in including tax. Probably could have done better on the $32/tire install cost but I was already there.

Thanks man, I really like the look of these as well. I think Demello describes them very well “out of the way, but there when you need them”

If you actually read around, people aren’t having issues, and some who did just messed up install or didn’t recalibrate if needed.

LOVE those tires. I have them on my '17 Wrangler Unlimited, and am itching to put them on my Off Road Tacoma. Only 5000 miles on it though and wanna run the stock Wranglers a little more. They won't bring crap trying to sell them used cause the market is flooded with used sets.

Looks like you're at stock height(no lift) so any rubbing or feeling any loss of power?? Tires look great, btw...

Locked & loaded! Slick setup!! Where do you keep the rifle? I have a handgun and a rifle I keep in my truck all the time. The handgun is easy to keep out of sight but the rifle always lays in the back floorboard in a soft case. In my F150 I had before this it could slide right under the back seat and be out of sight but Tacomas don't allow that.

I think you can get an after market under seat box that should allow a rifle to go in. I just can't think of the brand.

yeah stock height and haven't noticed any rub with wheels locked in forward or reverse. I have the plasticolor mud flaps so not sure if there'd be an issue with oem but there appears to be quite a bit of room left. Only drove it about 5 miles back home but didn't notice any power loss. Believe the stock wranglers were 42lbs and these are listed at 44 so basically the same weight, just an inch taller.

    I made a couple things:

    IMG_20180316_160451.jpg
    IMG_20180316_184717.jpg
    IMG_20180316_184724.jpg

The prototypes are available, if anyone wants them. Just pay shipping:
    IMG_20180316_184644.jpg

    You would need M10 1.25 x 50mm bolts.

Edit: Attached are the model files in Fusion and Step formats along with the 3D printer file (STL).

I included the basic round spacer. With that one, you will have a gap under the trim piece.

The hole in the seat rail is larger than the bolt shank to allow proper fit up. For my Taco, I just made two different spacers with the hole shifted 2mm. You could open up the hole in the model files to allow alignment. Either way, I included both of my files with the Fusion, Step, and 3D files.

Disclaimer: I printed mine with strong PET material and feel confident in the design and any risks. Anyone else who uses these designs assumes all personal risk themselves.

I’m very glad you posted the pics. I was wondering how either of the two sets I’m considering Wo I’ll look. Both are the same size as yours.

I’m now confident in the size decision thanks to those pics !!!!!

Not only so I have parking envy.......I’m wanting a scoop worse than ever !!!!

I really like that color, too. My last truck was very similar color. Drove it for 11 years and it looked knew when I sold it to get my new Tacoma.

    Smile says it all.

A good day out with a favorite dog ranks up there with as good as it gets!!!!

Oh I've already started ordering stuff. I've got an end of April delivery date, so that gives me a little over a month to stock pile parts. Lol
