I’ve done that drive for the same reason a few times... it’s a down side of living in the mountains. They need to make a regional airport by combining Modesto and Stockton airports.

 

Yup. Never needed 4x4. I’d like to start getting out on tougher trails but I get along some just fine. It’s a weekend/hunting/camping rig. It suits my needs.

It’ll go under the knife when I get a new daily.

Sacramento airport is very convenient, we always try to leave from there.This was a work trip for her so she didn’t have a choice this time.

 

Oh yeah. Sac is two hours for me.

SFO, San Jose, Oakland, Sac all about two hours for me.

 

My two daughters have it right. The said they will just wheel me out in the woods and leave me for a few weeks and send someone to gather me up afterwards.
That way I go back to the earth via natural instinct and animal preservation on my part. I think the coyotes will have a great meal.

Mid-life crisis? No. It took me this long to be able to afford a rather expensive hobby.

 

That only pencils out if I live to 106. Early indications are not good.
