Changing the clutch in my 2015 V6 Tacoma. Can't seem to find a decent write up. Anyone have a link to a decent guide? So far got the exhaust off, cross member off and the transmission supported by two Jack's. How do we get to the top bolts how low can the transmission drop without damaging anything?

Is there a reason you’re doing this yourself if you don’t know what you’re doing?

Please change your title. It's misleading to people that actually "need help". With 4000 posts, you should know better.

I understand the new clutch part. I don’t understand why you aren’t taking it to a mechanic.

I made a post like this while my truck was partially taken apart. I started the title with “Need Quick Answer..” and got a lot of quick advice.

@Toy4me already linked the service manual that should tell you what you need. It just boggles my mind why some one would try to swap a clutch without already having a step by step guide of what to do. That seems like a good way to ruin a truck to me.

I made the mistake of buying a Haynes manual... step 20: Remove the transmission-to-engine bolts. Not much help from my Haynes manual. Any way to get those bolts from the top?

Edit: they do mention not to tilt the engine back too far because the fan will hit the fan shroud.

    How bout....

    "Looking for clutch removal guide"
    "Looking for clutch removal help"
    "Changing clutch, looking for advice"
    "2015 clutch removal help"
    "Changing clutch, got questions"
    "Questions concerning 2015 clutch removal".

The problem with your title implies that this is some sort of emergency. Out of gas, stuck in the woods, trapped under truck, in a collision, need a strap or tow. Anything implying that you actually need help.

And also....500 titles to sort thru of "need help"! Are kinda hard to sort thru if someone was actually looking for decent information on how to change the clutch in a 2nd gen tacoma.

Even the fsm isn't going to tell you that. Some things you have to figure out yourself. Combination of experience and observation. A good selection of tools helps too.

Yea I found that guys "write up" do a bunch of stuff and remove the transmission is not helpful lol. And from what I've heard the haynes manuals aren't what they use to be. Hence why I turned to you guys for help. The YouTube videos I've found aren't helpful either they just show the trans being removed lol. Why didn't I take it to a shop simple funds. Why does anyone do anything themselves now either they enjoy it or lack the money to pay someone to do it.

I can foresee this going bad quickly.

However, I once helped a buddy change a C6 Ford automatic trans in a gravel driveway, at the Last Chance Motel (No kidding, that was the name of the place), using an 8' 4X4, blocks of wood, and a skateboard for a tranny jack. Oh yeah, and we started at about 10:00PM.
