3 gallon air tank mounted and fully plumbed. I used a T on the exit so that I can run a hard line later up front for a QD under the front bumper in the future.

After a little trimming I got the ARB switch mounted and wired up. Had a CH4x4 switch but it’s a 3amp switch and I needed a min of a 15amp switch.

Great job! Where’d you pick up that air tank? Fits perfect.

Thank you, I am digging it myself

Thank you, it was not the easiest process.

Thank you. The tank is made by Vixen and I got it off of Amazon, it is a 3 gallon aluminum tank.

Do you think the box has enough clearance in the rear to fit with a high clearance bumper. How far down does the new box hang down compared to the stock box.

I really couldn’t say, it has as low as the bottom of the bed. It sits about flush to the lowest part of the bed. If I had a high mount bumper I would be able to be a bit more helpful. You could always give expedition essentials a call, really nice people.

If you get a chance can you take a picture of what it looks like from the wheel side. I'm sure not all high clearance rears are made the same but a picture would help if its not to much trouble.

Can you do a little write up with some links to the parts you used? Very clean. Was thinking of the sale offroad mount under hood but the bed is nice for easy access to tank.

Nice setup! Curious, what’s the main purpose for the tank? Are you running pneumatic tools with it or just extending the duty cycle of the pump?

You hit it right on the nose. It’s really for both. I plan on having some cutting and grinding tools on board and it helps with tire air up as well........and down the road I plan on doing a train horn as well.

Which wires did you actually keep on the ARB harness? I plan to use my twin for nothing more than airing up and would like to strip out the unnecessary wires to clean up the harness.

Also, why do you need a 15amp switch? Are you not running a relay?

Are you filling the tank and system as high as 200 psi? Curious if 3 gal tank fills a tire or lasts very long with a tool - I have a 5 gal/150 psi tank and a 2 gallon/2000 psi cylinder- which would you use (mostly for tires)?

Hope there’s a fuse to that line behind the dash if he is! :)

I used the supplied switch provided, even though I had a nice CH4x4 one. I called ARB and they said 15amp switch.....so that’s what I went with and there is a pressure switch and relay built into the pump, ARB supplied everything you need to make it plug and play. For the wires, you’ll see in my original post, I posted 3 pictures with descriptions below. On the long harness you should only be left with purple and black.

Well the 3 gallon tank is only for a little extra assistance, the compressor by its self is enough to run some small air tools.
