Will second generation OEM accessories fit third Generation?

Hi all,

I’m about to sell my 2012 DC short bed truck and would like to know what OEM accessories I can take off and will fit into my new 16 DC short bed truck? The accessories I currently have are:


· Roof Rack

· OEM Steps

· Yakima Bike Mounts

· Bed Extender

· Bed Mat

· Bed Divider

Any chance you can keep both trucks temporarily, test fit, let us know the results, and then sell the 2012?

 

Bed mat and extender for sure. I pulled mine from my 2012 and they are currently in my 2016

 

I can tell you from experience that the steps, bed mat, and extender will work.

 

Would love to know about the roof rack. About to purchase a used 2016 for my 2015. I believe it should work but you never know...

 

The local parts guy said it will work, but I don't have first hand experience. Only one way to find out!

 

I'll get it to fit! I have plenty of bondo and sheet rock screws.

 

Pretty positive that the steps and roof rack will fit. I believe there are plenty of members here who have purchased roof racks and steps that were for the 15 model for their 16. I think a few people have had one bolt getting lined up for one of the steps though. It just needed a little help being pushed up a little more and it fit no problem. Bed mat will too as long as it's SB to SB and LB to LB. I kept mine out of my 11.

 

I just traded in my 2013 and purchased a 2016 and the bed extender does not fit..the bed is slightly wider

 

@araizu1 I bought 2015 OEM running boards. Bolted on without issue or modifications.

 

I can't, I close the deal today but I went ahead and remove the yakima bike mounts, bed mat, bed divider and bed extender, I let you know how it goes after I get the new truck.

 

I put the roof rack from my 2005 on my 2016 and it fit fine.

 

In doing a search on the web, the bed extender appears to have an adjustable width to fit the 2016. Apparently, the same part number is used for 2nd and 3rd gens (

$301 PT392-35120 Toyota Bed Extender

PT392-35120).

Also, the bed divider (PT767-35051) apparently will fit the 2016 without tonneau cover, because it too can be adjusted width wise.

Is the OEM roof rack kn 3rd gen the same as your 2005? I'm looking into a rack mounted LED that's for a 2nd gen.

 

If you are selling your truck you might be interested in removing the front bed rail from your truck. The 2016 Tacoma does not have the front rail, only the 2 side rails.

 

The racks are the same. It fit perfectly.

 

Rack, mat, extender,divider, will fit.
Only the steps and yakima might not... Unless the yakima is for hitch/roof rack

 

Anyone have a picture of the 2nd gen bedmat in their 3rd gen? Wanting to see if it's a perfect fit. Thanks

 

I put my 2010 OEM roof rack and bed mat on my 2017 and no issues and perfect fit. Hope this helps.
