I have a 2004 Tacoma 5 speed manual SR-5 2.4L that I bought new, but now and 248,000 highway miles later I have this whining noise from the rear end. My question is could it be an axle problem or the bearing and pinion gear going bad in the diff. Rear end fluid is ok, and don't see any leakage around axles. If it is the rear end what should be the avg repair cost including parts and labor in the Ft. Lauderdale area?
