lol the 100 series fever is strong...
If it sells it would be sold with a heavy heart so I did not set my price for a quick fire sale clearly here.

Likewise, how long have you been on the hundy hunt? I'm going the same route but I think you commented on that in the NE thread.

Well I suffer of this grave problem where I religiously search for stuff I "want" and yet don't exactly "need"
As fas as a 100 series, I have been on and off searching for about a year now. I do entertain the idea of a 200 series as well though as prices slowly come down on the heavy expensive pigs.
The prices and conditions vary so much though that I have yet to pull the trigger. Kinda always fighting the metal voices of spend the money vs save the money. Not having children at the moment and still renting so that all plays into the equation, luckily my lady is very much a fan of the land cruiser so for better or worse I have that going in favor here.

Being newly single and a man about town, I'm not worried about the ball and chain anymore but my kids keep growing so this is mainly about giving them some more breathing room as well as providing me a new adventure rig platform. I'm pretty set on the 100 only thing I go back and forth on is 98-2002 or 2003-2007. My aesthetic brain says go for the later model and 35's but then the practical me says save some money and stick with 33's...its a delicate balance. :notsure:

Yea I often debate the 98-02 vs 03-07 as well....
My disdain for early and mid 2000 era navigation systems is very strong though and heavily swing me towards the 98-02s
Now finding a decent 98-02 does seem to be trickier than the seemingly more common 03-07s.

tire size is a delicate balance I agree

I am also undecided at times between finding the absolute cheapest one possible and start ticking things off the to do list or finding that right one with possibly just a few things already set in motion.

I try and search both near and far though as well. I flew out with a one way ticket to buy my tacoma and would like to do the same thing when finding the right 100 series. Hunting for the right one is great challenge here. Anyone can go find one today for stupid money and own it by this time next week, I for one will not pay 20k for a 200k mile 100 series.

albeit a different platform, have you ruled out the 80 series? this possible idea also nags at me from time to time.

I've been reading for months now about the reliability of the 100 on the IH8MUD site and it pretty much has me locked on to that one as it's definitely going to pull double duty as my DD family hauler like my taco has to this point.

I'm narrowing my search area to the south to be able to start off as rust free as possible, although I'll do my best to protect it after the fact. I've got some family down in FLA checking out some of the more local ones to them and if I see something of interest I may do the same and fly in and drive out.

yea they do not come cheap but at the end of the day they are stout and reliable and I do believe you get what you pay for when you buy a land cruiser...

Florida has some very clean cars though I feel like they are often priced kinda high, I also think there is a good amount of salt in the air depending where you look... From all my searches I tend to find the best ones listed in Utah & Colorado but many times I do try and find them with a slee or arb already on the front lol :anonymous:. I would not worry too much about getting one from a heavy snow state out west. They seem to handle rust much better than any tacoma, and the salt and brine out west is not what it is here in the north east imho.

Having some things already done would be a great find but in the price range I'm looking I've mostly only found stock. There's a nice 2002 River rock green with "relatively" low miles I've got someone checking out for me this week, we'll see how that goes.:fingerscrossed:
Well let me know how your search goes, I'll be interested in seeing what you land in! I'll keep you posted as well.

Not that one, although it sure looks nice, but for what it is I still think that one is over priced even with the new leather. I do plan to take a trip down if it's still available in April and throw him an offer...we'll see, rear locker would sure be nice!
