I just ordered OME 887 coils to replace my current coils which are toytec. The new 887 will give me around an extra inch in the front, but I would like an extra 1.5-2 inches. What is the downside to putting my bilstein 5100s on the first notch vs 0? Anyone know how bad the ride quality will decrease?

Bumper, Winch, 315s, Sliders, OME HD lift, Custom rear swingout, roof rack, drawers, way too much to list.
How much total lift are you trying to achieve? 887s on 0 get you 2.75" so if you're looking for 4 inches you might just be better off getting a 1 inch spacer for the top as long as you already have UCAs that will work with it.

I thought it was wrong to stack lifts? What about your CV angles?

Truck is 4wd and I’m not sure exactly how much lift I have right now because I have 285/70/17s but I believe I’m right at 2”
I’d like to be at 3.5”-4”

Can't go over 3" . Even close to 3" your Cv angles are crazy

The front drive shafts, that have the rubber boot on them. Too much angle is bad

Bilstein/Icon 2" suspension lift with wheelers 5 leaf springs, 7-pin relocate through bumper, bfg KO2s, redline hood struts, immryo mirror relocation, stubby antenna, dipped emblem, heated mirrors, Jason trek cap, led fogs, debadged
You should do some research on TW about lifting a Tacoma. There's tons of resources available. CV shafts drive your front wheels on a 4wd truck and the greater the angle they'e forced to operate on, the faster they wear out. In extreme cases, like when lifting over 3", you may put your truck in situations where the cv's will bind. Do this enough times (or even once) and your cv's could fail. It's dangerous. If you want to lift beyond 3 inches, research drop bracket lift kits. They are expensive and irreversible, but they will get you the lift you're looking for and still function.

Ok thanks! I don’t want to get into cutting the frame so I guess I will stick with 2.75”

I would stick with the 887 coils plus the spacer they provide to make it a true 3” lift and then add a 1-1.5” body lift. Leave your 5100’s at 0!

I noticed the OME coils come in 590 and 660lb. The ToyTec coils come in 650 and 700lb. Looks like the ToyTec coils would be very stiff. Am I missing something?

I have the toytec 112-620 coils which only give you 1.6” and 620 pounds
I am replacing them with the OME 887 coils which give about 2.75” and 590 pounds
I don’t have a front bumper so I don’t need the extra weight. What exactly are you asking?

Just trying to figure out what lift to go with. 2016 SR5 2.7 a.c. 4x4. Imagine the Toytec's are going to be stiff for my application?

I'm leaning towards the 887s. I do plan on a SSO slimline bumper and winch, which will be around 120lbs. total.

From what I understand the coils do the lifting and the shocks determine ride quality. I am far from an expert on this stuff.

If you are looking to install a bumper you might want to look at the OME 886 coils

This is my first lift and I'm still trying to figure all this out. I think your right though, but I thought with a coil designed to hold more weight, bumper&winch, it would be stiffer, especially on my 4 banger. Am I wrong?
