How it sticks out. Looks worse from the other angle in person. That’s with my fenders pushed out with a piece I rigged up to. But got rid of it and have heard his fitment has gotten a lot better. That was an early batch from him and my buddy got a front bumper from him a year ago and we didn’t have any issues with it.

How many people on Tacomaworld buy things for their truck that they don't really need or will never use? I personally really want a CBI front bumper, but would probably never need it. The wife and i use to go off roading/ camping all the time when we lived in CO, but have only been once since we moved to VT 4 years ago.

Well do you all have several minutes?

I’ll list all the crap I bought for my 1st Gen that I learned to never buy again for my new 3rd Gen

    1) Window tint, I even went to a professional shop that does a ton of tints. After about 5 years my black tint was dark green, not good and out of warranty. $600

    2) Afternarket amp and speakers (kept the factory deck), again went to a pro place and everything installed and worked until about 3 years later the back speakers would cut out and in checked everything wouldn’t work so just used front speakers. Amp wouldn’t stay attached under seat and wires touched some metal and shorted out. Uninstalled the amp and just used stock deck with front speakers. $1000

    3) Car Alarm, actually factory installed but aftermarket Karr brand, worked on and off then electric doors stopped working completely, had to turn off alarm then use key manually, worthless remote alarm, finally paid a shop $75 to uninstall it completely and put back to stock. $500

    4) BFG AT oversized (one up) tires, never been a fan of these, the surface area is so big it pulled my truck side to side, always felt like alignment was off. They packed up with snow in the winter and turned into skis, seriously deadly. Took them off, sold used and bought Michelins. $700

    5) Bed Liner drop in, made a ton of noise, cracked in a few places, trapped water underneath and rubbed off a lot of paint in the bed. Eventually took it out and left at neighbors house, nobody would buy it. $400

    6) Seat covers lamb skin, the fluffy kind, they were so big they created even less space in an already cramped cab, anyone that tells you they’re cool in the summer is full of shit, just left them in and delt with it. They do soak up 32oz of spilled Gatorade though! $200

    7) Husky floor mats, they didn’t cover the entire floor, so in the winter there’s still snow and water and mud on each side of them soaking into the carpet. Eventually bought weather tech, problems solved. $100

    8) Windshield new, even paid more for a genuine Toyota windshield, really didn’t need one but the original was a bit pitted and some small cracks, had Safelite install but they must have contracted out to two complete idiots that didn’t install right, it leaked when it rained, a lot. They had to come out twice to redo it, complete waste of time and money. $600

    9) 91 octane fuel, once I measure fuel mileage with several tanks and no better went back to 87.

    10) Anti sway bar on rear, not sure of brand, installed it thinking it would help with towing, it rendered my leaf springs inoperable, plus it hung down way low, took off after a few months, don’t remember what I did with it. $300

That’s $4400+ and a lot of time I’ll never waste again.

Had these A.R.E. Overland Truck cap, Cover King Tactical seat covers, OME BP-51 full suspension and dakars, SPC adjustable UCA's, Husky Floor Mats, Mobtown Off-road sliders, Cali Raised light bar and ditch lights and bed stiffeners, mobtown off-road front ifs skid, uniden bearcat CB Amd firestick. Now a super fancy stock truck!
My OME BP-51’s. They look good and are pretty and weren’t cheap. Front driver side was replaced once already under warranty and rear passenger side was as well. Not even 3000 miles on them and there was only light trail riding. The OME Dakar’s squeak like a some of a bitch too. Also shocks are kinda a pain to adjust for ride comfort and no one can explain a good setting. As much as I’ve adjusted them back and forth I figure there is no good setting for the rebound or compression. However I really really want to to like them a lot and say good things about them because they are a good company and their customer service for warranty was awesome too! Maybe I’ll firgure them out when it’s warmer outside. And damn Dakar’s stop fucking sounding like a shitty motel bed that had 10000 hookers banged on it!

Regret grip taping my sliders. They removed several inches of skin off my leg whenever I get out of the truck in shorts.

Sorry....this reply isn't directly for stuff I regret.....just wanted to respond to Sockeyeguy's question with my unabashed opinion. Since we all know that :worthless:, I will provide a few.

I went with a set of Wet Okoles five months ago...just a week after buying my Tacoma.

They turned out to be a very close match in color to the factory seats. At first thinking I was glad, due to the solar effect and getting into the truck after a hot day parked in a baking asphalt parking lot. The lighter color has never been objectionable.

This is a moot point, now, as I've decided to go ahead and tint the windshield and front sides to match the rest. Now....I sorta wished I'd gone with a darker charcoal, but it's just a minor consideration.

I absolutely 100% have been very, very pleased with them. The comfort level is super. The heated seat is much appreciated as is the inflatable lumbar support.

I still need to tuck and pull 'em into a bit better fitment, but have been too lazy to do so. The install went easy enough....I did unbolt the front seats to get them on. Super easy step that I highly recommend doing. Unbolted & tipped forward. Nothing to it and you will have great access to everything.

I've recently found some bearing grease and other junk on them.....used the WO care kit soap and it came off in less than a minute.....no removal of seat covers....simply mixed up a batch and wiped it right off.

Did a kayak run recently and wound up getting my freezing soaking swamp arse in my truck to warm up on the drive home. Crazy weather that week as the next day was warm, sunny and I was concerned over what the wet swamp water seats would smell like. Mixed up another batch of the WO soap and wiped down the driver's seat....let it dry and then a few sprays of the WO oder neutralizer and zero problems.

Industrial grease.....from.....well, working in industry and making shyt.

Two minutes to mix a batch using a minute amount of this goodness in warm water and 60 seconds with a wash cloth wiping off my cover and.....bamsucka! Clean.

I always love the look of 'em when I hit my key unlock in the dark. They have a nice look with the trim and the Yota symbol.....my Dad and some buds thought they were some type of OE upgrade until I explained further.

Now.....I was fortunate to buy mine on a group buy here on TW. Was a hyooooge cost savings over what my local truck toy store wanted for the same set. Almost 50% savings. No kidding.

BBQ runs, grease, groceries, dogs, gun bags, coolers, wet swamp ass etc, etc......these things have held up well and clean up with great ease.

I'm still a dumbass......and my tending to spill stuff is an ongoing struggle, lol.

These lids get me when I reach for them from the top....Damn S-Bux for your dark brew addiction crave flinging.....fix these damn lids. :quickdraw:

Fukkers own me with their dark brew, Splenda and a 1/2 shot of cream.

I'm screwed when driving......or when parked in the driveway while cleaning or modding.....it's thirsty work at times.

Any idea how stupid I feel when spilling suds.....while cleaning up my car. :annoyed: What an idiot.....but at least the cleanup and tunes are more fun.

I can say that the new 40oz RTIC cups will fit in each of the 3rd Gen's 5 console cupholders. Works like a charm on the commutes to work. I do keep some of the ceramic coaster inserts down inside each cup holder....probably 1/4" thick. That may be what is allowing the fit.

Gonna order more of these 40oz beasts when they go on sale again. Excellent for getting hydrated while making the drive to/from work.

Yes very interesting about KBVoodoo, I posted in a thread that showed their bed rail rusting and another one about their rack that failed. All those posts are gone.

I wouldnt buy anything from them now.

Worst so far has been the wrangler high output 250 amp alternator and wire harness that I purchased from Dirty Parts. Fastest way to burn $700 for a big paperweight that will not charge at idle.

Seems .... interesting, can't find anything on the 14ga rack breaking either. I get that theed posted about it way to many times in a lot of different threads (obviously to get a refund), but to straight up pretend like never happened by deleting everything? Ok then..
