    Hey Guys,
I currently have a DCSB and when I put my old bike in I can just turn the bars and it fits two bikes length ways. I am looking at a new bike this summer and it will have a larger frame and larger tires (Giant Trance size L) and I don't think it will fit without some kind of mount or creativity.

How are people carrying their marger bikes in DCSB tacomas?

    Pics are great and appreciated.

On top on a Yakima rack is how I do it with the kayak down the middle. For a local ride I use a hitch rack (L type), also Yakima.

There are racks that mount in the bed. Leave the tail gate down or get one of those extender fences.

Do you remove the front tires of the bikes?

Currently I do not but I think I will have to in order to carry two bikes. I was looking at the rocky mount to go on the rail and stick out past my roll up cover, then the back wheel might be able to rest on the closed gate.

Don’t know how much you’re willing to spend but I’ve seen some really nice pictures of bed racks with bike mounts on each side. A receiver hitch rack is an option too

I got the Yakima hold up 2 hutch rack that has two trays for bikes behind the tailgate. I ride Dh and my bikes are plenty stable there if you need the bed space.

Yeah don't over think it, just get a tailgate pad. And a thick cable to padlock them to the tie-downs in the bed so you can leave them unattended if you need to.

Dakine makes one that's reasonably priced.

I pissed around with different setups, but ended up going back to a tailgate pad. The only reason I would do something different is if I were going a really long distance and wanted to secure the fork

Use a decent thickness chain inside an old inner tube. A lot more resistant to theft!

OP, Tailgate pads are awesome and low pro as you can get. Hitch racks work well too (go for 1 up). Or get a shuttle rack!

Awesome, thanks for all the input. Are any tailgate pads better than others?

    +1 for tailgate pad!

I really like the Dakine pad. I’ve had it for over 3 years and it’s held up awesome!

They will all do the job. I chose the the Raceface (pictured in Gunshos post) because I thought the divider blocks would keep the bikes from sliding around a bit over rougher terrain. It's splitting hairs. All of the major company's pads will be fine.

Got my bike a couple weeks ago and ended up getting a Kuat dirt bag on eRrailer for $20 shipped. Bolted it to a 2x6 and strapped it down. This is not necessarily a perminant solution but it does work well for now.
