17" TRD Pro rims and BFG AT TKO2s...

These specific tires are not "directional". And many of us here have stated you can just put the white letters on the inside.
If you're on Tirerack.com all of those little numbers are explained for you by hovering your mouse over the little "?" next to the numbers.
6 ply = C rated, is really the only thing that matters with this specific tire. Unless you would want the Load range E which is not needed but up to you.
There is a black wall specific tire but does not seem to be part of the ebay/discounttire sale.
Also, going into a store doesn't make you a "derp", but it does help getting the correct parts and information and not wasting money on items that may not work.

 

I hear you. Thanks. I think I'm just a little confused why on the ebay store tires it JUST says 112... but the tirerack tires say 109/112. If there's no difference, I'm good for sure.

 

It has two load ratings because it's a truck (LT) tire. The first number is weight rating for singles and second number is for when used in duals. Can't tell you why ebay doesn't have both ratings.

Thanks guys. Pulled the trigger on the ebay ones! thanks for all your help and pardon some of my noobness! Has anyone taken this setup off road seriously where there is full compression of the shocks, wheels turned a lot, bouncing, etc? And still no rubbing? I don't have mudguards so it looks like I'm in the clear.

 

Cant say personally to Offroad but I went to this tire with the trd pro wheels from a 265/75r16 stock Off-road wheel and to me personally it feels like its not as smooth of a ride but it does feel like the stock gearing likes them better. I have a really shitty street i have to ride down to get to my house and i noticed i feel the little stuff a little more in this tire. Probably wont even notice it after a while but can tell the difference coming from the old tires.

 

Yeah I think thats to be expected with harsher tires like these. I just want to make sure I can still off road a bit and compress everything and not worry about rubbing. From this thread, sounds like it all still works even off roading.

 

nah, you asking for too much there with the free install. From my experience, Discount Tire and Discount Tire Direct operate as different companies. If you buy your tire and certificates from DTD and have an issue, Discount Tire (brick and mortar store) won't help you.

I took advantage of the $100 off deal and ordered some 265/75R16 Falken Wildpeaks and ended up just buying the tire certs when I went to my local Discount Tire to have them installed. Believe I paid $32/tire for mounting and balancing with lifetime rotations/balancing and another $20/tire for the certs (price will obviously vary with brand of tire). A little pricey for mounting/balancing but the location is convenient.

 

Ok, thats good to know that you can buy certs from DT if the tires are brand new. I was replying to the member that asked for free mounting/balancing. I was also saying whoever you buy the certificates from would be the one honoring them when the need comes to redeem it. I also took advantage of the $100 off deal for some KO2s last week, it was interesting to see that DTD eBay store lower prices over the weekend.

 

Same, The tires i bought dropped even more over the weekend. It was gonna be $700 for 4 (listed at $450 for a pair - $100 coupon), using the coupon 2x but ended up $688 only using the coupon once.

When everyone is saying “no rubbing” with this setup, are they also testing it at full lock/ fully compressed suspension like seen rock crawling and off roading more seriously?

 

you stuff it enough, anything will rub.

Quit worrying, put your new tires on and go enjoy your truck.

 

Sorry for the noob-ness, and I appreciate the humor... But is there truth in this statement? Meaning, even stock... you can compress the suspension enough to rub the stock tires as well?

 

You're really worried about rubbing. I've seen it in many threads and many of your posts. If you do compress fully and it does rub, what are you worried about? A little plastic and rubber rubbing together? How often do you plan on being fully compressed? Like the previous statement, just buy and enjoy. It'll sound funny if it rubs once in a while, but nothing is going to explode. If you're adding 285's, then it's time to think about cutting, but 265's or stock is not going to cause problems.
