Any Toyota Reps...? Oversease Military Member Needs EnTune Help Please!

So, I bought a brand new TRD PRO in GERMANY last week from a company that sells US Spec automobiles to US Military members stationed overseas. It's listed with all of the features a PRO comes with, especially the EnTune Premium Audio System with App Suite and Nav, etc...
Here's the problem- when I try to create an account, it tells me that my VIN is wrong. I called Toyota and they said that since I bought the truck in Germany, it won't work. This is a US SPEC Tacoma, built in TEXAS, and advertised as such. Can someone please help!
I understand that the maps won't work in Germany (because it's a US SPEC vehicle), but I don't understand why I can't use the other EnTune features.
Additionally, they told me that the vehicle isn't even equipped with EnTune and that EnTune won't even work when I get back to the states with the truck! I don't see how that could be possible, since the truck was built in TEXAS, it's a US Spec truck, and it's advertised having the same EnTune Premium System that the PROs ALL come with.
Can someone help???

While that totally sucks it doesn't work, and I can't help you out with the problem, I will say that entune is nothing great. After spending way too long trying to figure out all the options, I just set mine on bluetooth and run it all though my phone.

The tech on car stereos is about 5 years behind phones, so it is just an annoying experience. Toyota (and all other mfgs as far as I have heard) should just ditch their inhouse stuff and stick with phone mirroring.

 

Just came across this. I had the same issue and contacted Toyota because of it. The response was that I needed to wait until I returned to the states, and have then have my VIN uploaded into their system as a "US resident". Once done, things will start working. Its ridiculous, but essentially that entire system is useless while we are overseas.

 

Same in Canada.

 

It has to do with data. Just like your cell phone won't work in another country entune won't either. You can mod your plan for a phone but not entune.
