I have three kids in car seats. Our other vehicle is an AWD Sienna, so I don't often need to drive three kids around, but when I do, I want them to be as safe as possible (obviously). I have three Diono Radian RXTs and all three actually fit forward-facing. They are a bit narrower than most car seats. My kids are 3, 5, 7 and there is enough room that I don't have to push the front seats all the way up. Everyone's comfortable, although there's not a lot of room to spare! Kids love the truck, mostly because they're sitting higher up and can see outside a lot better than in the van. Before I installed the carseats I used the Lusso Gear car seat protector with padding. We have the Brica car seat protectors in the van and I like the Lusso a lot better. They cost less and have these super helpful pockets in them that allow you to store random things (winter gloves, packets of Goldfish) that might otherwise clutter up your truck.

Just sold me on this car seat! Always wanted a new one for my daughter (2) and this seems it will work for a very long time. Worth the investment!

Just out of curiosity, if you guys are using the Diono Radian as baby seats, what are you guys using for strollers? Having my first child in 2 months. I've been looking at Graco's for their Click Connect system. Figured it would be less items to haul as the baby doesn't have to move from seat to seat.

Wow, very great information! I think you're going to sell a lot of people on the Diono Radian RXT's now. I might order the Car seat protector too. lol!

    Graco Extend 2 fit.

Thing is rear facing because the old lady said so. Haha that's why it's on the passenger side, otherwise it'll push my seat forward too much.

Yup. Get something else while they're tiny so you can just clip it into the stroller. I have a graco infant one and an extend 2 fit for him now because he's outgrown the infant one

Here’s a pic of it my wife has the nuna pipa car seat and base in here 4Runner till it’s time to get her one of these. Side note that was the dog hammock which is no longer in the truck cause you can’t have the car seat sit on it. 69D18CB1-1456-4DDF-BC95-8B79E2FF6DF6.jpg

For BABIES we used Graco carseats that snap down into a base (like this one - https://www.amazon.com/Graco-SnugRi...01&sr=8-6&keywords=graco+infant+car+seat+base) and then we bought one of the strollers that the car seat snaps into, like this - https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Snugri...30145&sr=1-3&keywords=graco+car+seat+stroller

While you certainly can put an infant into a Diono Radian, the beauty of what we called the "baby bucket" was you could secure your child in the car seat outside the car (1,000,000 times easier) and just drop the baby bucket down into the base, or onto the stroller.

I was skeptical that this would work so well but it’s perfect. Recaro base mounted to the adjacent anchor points and our seats can go all the way back without making contact.

As long as we don’t have another kid then we’re in good shape. E2DC803F-B8A1-416D-BDDD-D0CBE596AEB9.jpg

I have a very similar set up... I am thinking about a rubber block/mat under the seat but overall the middle with rear facing works well...

We use the Graco Snugride Jogger. With the OEM bed mat, and tonneau. I never have to worry about it sliding around on trips and since it has larger wheels. Going anywhere and everywhere is so much easier. Not to mention, the click-connect system prevents headaches. Lol

I second this notion.. the click connect is so easy and there are many adapters out there...

Were you able to tighten the strap on the back? I tried on mine but still not happy with the amount of wiggle between the top part of the Diono car seat and the truck car seat.

Unfortunately, no. With our minivan, there are latches behind the seat that we can clip the strap to and cinch it down tight. With the truck, there's no latch back there. But I think you would have that problem with any car seat in the Tacoma.

Take a look in the manual. I am pretty sure you can't use the bottom seat anchors in the middle position as they are not designed to be used that way. Tacoma only comes with outer position LATCH anchors.

I’ve found using the middle seat shoulder belt is just as easy as using the latch anchors, so I’m using the seatbelt on our Graci base.

2 kids, a 2.5yo and a 2 month old. Dione and a Graco base fit great together and leave enough room so I can flip up the seat bottom on the third spot still. 2017 DC
