I posted this over in the Tires/Wheels section but only received one response so far.

I just purchased new tires and OEM TRD Pro Wheels. Are the TPMS anything special that requires me to purchase from Toyota or is what NTB supplying the same quality?

Also- question of does the TPMS sync the tire pressure to the "Tire Pressure" display in the dash and does this require the OEM part in 3rd Gen?

does anyone have any experience w/ ceramic coating? I think I'm going to do the WRX when it warms up a bit (and preferably when we dont have 12" of snow on the ground)

is it difficult to apply? what brands do you recommend? any tips / tricks?

Yeah, I was regretting coming into the office, a lot of people aren't even here.

I may of stumbled onto a potential gold mine of brand new forgotten equipment at work. The question is, do I ask for it, or just commandeer it, and start updating stuff out in the field.....

Like the opticoat stuff? I am interested as well. Some threads people say its snake oil, while other people swear by it and say they will use it on every car from there till they die.

yea, I read that Subaru paint is pretty "thin" [for lack of a better word]

    I watched this vid:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPKOdhItaKE&t=451s

    and this follow up vid:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzqWl-mTJIs

and now I kinda want to do it while the car is new and not messed up or anything.... just protect it right off the bat.

and how'd your car do in the snow John? I wish I could have taken mine out, but she's grounded in the garage until the headlights are done and back in....

@Me. Projekt let me know if you do the coating. I would be interested if you find someone to do it. I may ask my detailer. I was planning on getting mine detailed next month and he eats sleeps and breathes car detailing so he may be a wealth of info on the subject.

I didn't get a chance to get out in the snow yesterday. I had the kids so we just stayed home, watched movies, and drank hot cocoa. Then we went out and played in the snow when it accumulated enough. I don't have my winter tires on anymore, so I wasn't sure how the summer tires would do. The winter ones did great the time or two we had enough snow to cover the road.

Yea I would love to see how much he would charge to do it for me, sometimes it's nice to do things yourself, but other things are best left to the pros haha.... I also need to talk with him about water spot removal on the 4Runner.... Hawaii has some seriously acidic rain from all the volcanoes.

I used this on my 14 Off Road and it did really well. The only thing is you have to go slow with even coats and not overlap or you get raised spots and they don't come out easily once dried....And make sure you clay the surface 2 or 3 times.

I'll have to be really careful, but for that price, I'll learn to do it myself haha

yea fuck that, I'll just do it myself... I'll just have to be really careful and do a lot of homework... maybe practice on the Prius or Tacoma before they are sold haha
