My air bag light came on while off-roading the other day

It turns off when I start the truck but comes back on a few miles later

The horn and cruise control work. Also the passenger air bag still works

Code b2799 (odd that this came up)
    -b1660
    -b1801

Really hoping it’s NOT clockspring as my truck doesn’t qualify for the tsb

Are you using a original key? Or a copy? The b1801 codes is most common to clock cable. And b1660 is common for drivers side seat sensor

No idea it’s the only key I have (used) my uktragauage showed zero codes or pending codes

    Cel wasn’t on

The scanner said that the b1660 was passenger seat on/off indicator malfunction

Did you check the connection under the seat. When I had the b1801 code it was the clock cable and the 1660 was the switch on the dash

I unplugged all of them and then plugged back in

How did you fix the dash 1660 code ?

Cleaned the connection and put a dab dielectric grease on it and the that code went away. But the light was still on until I replaced the clock cable. I feel your pain the clock cables are not cheap

I’m probably going to try a aftermarket clock spring. Worth a try at 10$ lol

Do you really think the clock spring could set off the 1660 code too??

I checked the connections at the clock

I have a bunch of info on the airbag system I can get to it tomorrow.
I have used the eBay clock springs with luck on two occasions.
Once - ordered the one without stereo controls.
Then again with the controls about a year two years later.

I just ordered a cheap eBay clock spring

I already disabled my wheel controls

I just find it odd that one code (1801) is def clockspring BUT the 1601 refers to the on off indicator :bananadead:

When I have a passenger the airbag says on just like it’s suppose to

Every time I start the truck the light goes OFF but returns very quickly and stays on

Yeah my truck has a similar issue. I’ve narrowed it down the the driver air bag or that computer.
And that’s why it’s still not fixed

Well yesterday I drove for two hours on the freeway with no airbag light. As soon as I got off the freeway and started driving on streets the light tuned on

Makes me think it for sure is the clock spring since freeway doesn’t involve much turning, yet as soon as I turned off the fwy it came on.

I have a B1100 code. What on page RS-42? I need some info since I thought it was the module. I bought a used one and when I took it to program it they told me the module was fine.
