put old tires and wheels in garage and drove at least 15 miles and truck was still not showing tpms light. What's the distance their signal reaches my truck. Tia

Not sure how far signal is but I believe the light stayed off because it only checks it after so many minutes of driving. I have done the same thing with one of my trucks, using snow and summer set of wheels and the light never comes on. But I also dont live far from work. Also the 1 time my light came on, it was due to spare being low and when I refilled it the light still stayed on for a little while before going out

2007 is the year tpms systems became required for all vehicles, prior to that, for the most part, Toyota was using Tpms systems, but they were indirect tpms systems, meaning it used the wheel speed sensors and tire rotation speeds of one tire vs the other tires to determine if they were low. Idk if you know for a fact what kind of system it has (indirect will have rubber valve stems), but your truck is in that weird spot where it may have been produced before they switched to tpms monitors in the wheels, and thats really the only thing I can think of.

That's weird, as far as I know the full size spare under the truck does not have a TPMS in it, which is why it is labeled for 'temporary use only' even though it is a full size spare.

My full size spare did not have a TPMS in it.

My 08 DCSB TRD sport had TMS in the spare. But my new set of wheels doesn't have them

It's kind of a thing where it only turns the light on when it detects a low tire. A missing tire is not a low tire. I dropped my tires off at the tire place to be dismounted. When I left, light was out. I came back later to pick them up and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, the light came on.

Then when all my TPMS are in my shed, why does the light come on? Missing TPMS are a trigger for the dash light.

When the TPMS light is flashing on the dash, it is attempting to sync with the sensors in the tires, if it can not. The light stays on. As mentioned before, sometimes it just takes it hours before it decides to check the sensors.

This is one of those dark magic kind of things that nobody really knows how it works. Different people have different experiences.

Well I went out today and traveled about 5 miles and no light. Came home to pick wife up to go food shopping and light came on when I started truck to leave supermarket distance about 1.5 miles. Truly weird oh and I do have old spare under truck with tpms. My truck came with 5 tpms.

My '13 is based on time. I didn't bother to reprogram the system with my winter wheel TPMS codes this year. In the morning, the light is off as I park near my summer wheels that are still in the computer. I drive the same way to work each day and the light comes on at different locations depending on traffic and stop lights.

my 06 has 5 sensors, when my spare gets low on pressure, my tpms warning light lights up letting me know one of them is low. I check them all to find out its my spare. When I go snow skiing and put on my studs which are on the 17 sport wheels with no sensors, it takes about 50 miles or about an hour from my home before the tpms light lights up on the dash.

When I air down, the light is on before I get back in the truck.

When I air back up, the light is off by the time I get back in the truck.
