Hey everyone. I've been reading the forum for the past little while but recent searches haven't yielded the results I was hoping for so I've decided to try joining the discussion. As far as I know, I'm the second owner of my 04 Tacoma, and after 2 years I'm ready to start tricking it out!

Before you start tricking, how’s your frame look?

It's rusty but after being rear-ended almost a year ago I was assured it's still straight and theres nothing wrong with it. Anything specific I should look for?

It hasn't been coated recently. Hopefully not too rusty.

Where has your truck lived it’s life? I would make sure that frame is solid before you dump a lot of cash into it

Northern Alberta. Bush truck mostly. Minimal salt exposure. It didn't look too bad when I pulled the box off. Is there a way to gauge rustyness?

Welcome to TW...You have an 04,I believe that the frame recalls go out 15 years from production year so I would take it to dealership and have it inspected. I had a 2000 ext.cab that Toyota bought back and I had an 05 AC that they sprayed with their coating, what a mess that was.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize that or I'd have done it when I bought the truck.
