I’m sure what I’m going to do is just the high angle cv boots but I’m not sure the life span of those. The OEM gave me 65k no worries. Makes me think just get another OEM boot

That’s why I went with oem again. You can get two rebuild kits (enough to service both axles) for like $40. Lemme get you a part number

I bought them off Amazon! I’m glad you can learn from my mistakes. I originally only used one type of clamp, not knowing otherwise and that’s what led to half my clamps coming undone. ANYWAYS, here’s the tool you’ll use on the inner most clamp.

And here’s the tool you’ll use to clamp the other three down. Notice how there’s a square in each handle. It’s so you can put two breaker bars in and realllllly clamp that shit down tight.

You lost me on the other three. Are you referring to the notch setting on the clamps?

There’s two boots on an axle, with a clamp on each end. There’s a total of 4 clamps per axle. On one clamp, you use the first tool. On the other three clamps, you use the second tool.

The inner most clamp. When I say inner, I mean the clamp closest to the differential. It’s a different style than the others. You can kinda see in the photo how it’s got all those ridges on it

Gotcha. So I can get the inner boot kit for $22. Was it a total bear to get everything out and then back in? I’m worried about stuffing it back in.

It was surprisingly easy. I used a pry bar and the cv popped right out. To put it back in I used the pry bar and a 2lb sledge hammer to tap it in. You will have to drop your front skid to get a good angle to pry it out.

Once I get to the tire store I’ll give you a mini write up with pics and shit. Should be an hour or so, but right now I’m about to install my spacers.
