2009 airbag light dtc codes pulled. HELP please

So after tackling the Rubicon trail recently and after fixing all other necessary repairs. I have an airbag light that comes on after driving for a few minutes. It always goes off after shutting the truck down but will come back on after a few min. While on the trail, truck went through 2-3ft deep water, was knocked around hard on some rocks etc. I had a heavier passenger riding shotgun, and stuff stuffed under the seats too. I've checked all connections under both seats and everything looked good there. I replaced the clock spring/spiral cable about a year and a half ago and it hasn't given me trouble since. Cruise, horn and all steering wheel controls work. Pulled the dtc codes via connecting pin 4 and 13 on the OBDII port and had my airbag flash codes 43, 51, 53, and 56. Anybody got some good ideas before I have a dealership trouble shoot this further?

no one wants to help me so while working on OBA problems over the weekend and looking for any possible shorts in the airbag system under the hood. I found that the airbag light doesnt turn on unless the steering wheel is moved. horn honking, persons in either seat, and seat belts enguaged had no effect on the light. Bought a spiral cable to replace my replacement cable. In ALL my research, I've never seen a bad spiral cable throw this particular set of codes but by this time next week I should have an answer if its the spiral cable or not for the next person that does a search and finds this thread which apparently will only have me talking to myself on it.

 

looks like you need a spiral cable and the display under the radio where the clock and air bag light is.
the code 56 sounds like either broken wires under the seat or the seat frame is messed up.

Spiral cable just replaced. Light is still on. Pulled radio and looked at the clock/ airbag light there but it looked good too
I have a question.- when nothing is on the passenger seat, should the p-airbag light say off? When weight is applied is says airbag on. When switch is turned to off from auto it says off. So when switch is in auto and nothing is on seat, should the off light- light up?

 

looks like for my access cab with no passenger the light should be off. Thanks. One less spot to look.

 

Ripped the passanger seat out again yesterday and looked all the wires and passanger weight sensor computer over pretty hard. everything looked good. Still shooting in the dark. I think a trip to the dealer is in order soon
Where else can I look for problems on the passenger side?

 

If looking back at the codes and info reguarding them on post 6, the only spot they all meet is the airbag center module. I guess I can rip apart the truck dash and find it and check for loose wires in this location.

Hopefully this is the last update to this thread. Central airbag module passed my visual inspection so I replaced the clockspring a 3rd time on a hunch annnnnnd the lights are OFF! Finally. When I replaced it the first time with a new clock spring, the light never went off at all. I then switched it back to the old clock spring and the light would go off then come back on after a minute or two of driving. So I put up some more cash for a 3rd clock spring, replaced it a 3rd time and its all better now. I find it very interesting that a faulty clock spring would throw the codes that it did but hey, my hope is that someone someday is gonna use the search function, find this and it'll help them out too.

 

Did you buy legitimate clock springs from the Toyota dealership or knock-offs from eBay?

 

First replacement clock spring was eBay to be honest. The second one (the one that is still working) was from rockauto. I can't remember the brand. Started with an "A" maybe airtex
