Just FYI, I suffered front left corner damage to my truck. Parking lot incident, impact around 3 km/h. Fender, bumper, headlight, fog light. Cost to repair - C$10 500. Of which, $5 800 is parts. 2-3 weeks of work. So these trucks are not easy nor cheap to repair.

I will post a pic after the insurance company has paid for the repairs, which they will recover from the other party later. Yes, I recommend the "waiver of depreciation" option, which meant that I am getting new Toyota parts instead of used or pattern parts. And don't cheap out on the rental car coverage, because the repairs take time. Fortunately I have another car I can drive, otherwise I would have been into about $500 in car rental.

That is insane, I’d bet Toyota builds the entire truck for around 10-15k, if not cheaper. Collision repair centers make insane amounts of profit, with insane inflated markups cause they know insurances will payout quickly just to end the claim. I personally knew people who worked at them before. I remember seeing on here a guy whos insurance spent over 5k for a tailgate replacement....a simple stamped aluminum sheet metal part that probably cost less than $100 to make and paint. But that’s why we pay insurance, as long as everyone is safe and not injured, that’s what matters.

I know there is about US$15k of profit in a higher-trim F150. So there is probably almost that much profit in our trucks.
