If you go to LEDs on that circuit you should not max it out @MoneyMan55 correct me if I am wrong. in the summer yeah I can open the doors and be ok but in the winter umm no mine is 28 by 32 so my plan is to leave the floods in place for just general walk in walk out or summer time but winter I need more lighting so 6 in 2 rows front to back. As I get older reading a tape measure in low light ... lol

It's pretty funny tonight's talk is about LED shop lights. I just installed six 4'ers in my two car garage a few weeks ago. I need to paint out there when I get around to it, but for now it's nice and bright.

You can add a lot of light on a led circuit.
When a 100watt bulb draws 14 Watts instead of 100

I see this discussion already , "Honey the garage is a fire hazard with the way the electrical is , I don't want to risk loosing you in a fire at night in the winter, snow, rain..... " Depending on how long you have been married she might even buy this argument:} But yeah that is way to much in this non electricians mind..

You don’t notice shadows until you brighten up the place.

I told the electricians i wanted to weld and work on cars.
I needed lots of outlets ,lights, etc.
So 220 and 60 amp sub panel.
My lights in the front are not fixtures but electric boxes so I can add lights just by plugging into the outlets overhead.

I have several banks of HO tubes hanging from the ceiling in the reloading room. And a halogen on a goose neck fixture. They are supplemental lighting and usually only on when I am reloading. Got tired of working the dark and that sure took care of that issue. Was a few years ago, someday that will get upgraded too.

Son has been asking for chicken wings for the last few days. I ended up connected into work most of the day working on a problem that no one else can seem to fix. Didn't really feel like cooking wings so asked him if delivery would be OK. He hesitated and I asked if he liked mine better. He said yes, a lot.

Checked on line any how holy crap they wanted a buck a wing. 14 wings each was $28 plus delivery. I went to the grocery store, 40 wings for $11 already cut.

    Smoked with some cherry
    cookng smokin.jpg

And Buffalo sauce of course. Celery and blue cheese.

    march tossed.jpg

He is right, don't care who delivers them not as good as these. He is still up in the kitchen trying to finish the rest of them off LOL. I remember those days.

I make a pretty mean garlic Parmesan cheese wing too. But Buffalo seems to get cooked the most around here.

I put LED's in them so I can turn them on but they are behind me when I am dead center in the big shop. I was warned recently by the garage door folks who came and adjusted the motor for me. He was telling me if you change those bulbs and have problems with the door not responding switch the bulb manufacturer they have found some of them leak enough RF it interferes with the receiver since it is so close to it. I have no had a problem but figured ok file that away for future reference.

There is something to that. We test led lights and fixtures in my work area and, if they are plugged in I can't get my radio station on my portable. It doesn't bother the radio in my truck though.
