You all better watch it, I’ll take off and nuke this thread from orbit. It’d be the only way to be sure.

    I did some work today!

    087DC941-8BD7-4721-B56F-7847B075D3FF.jpg
Coated the exposed plywood with epoxy and let sit for at least an hour. I let it sit for almost three hours today because it idcold out. Basically, you want time for the epoxy to soak as far into the plywood surface as possible so the dry fiberglass fabric doesn’t just soak it all up and then you have a weak bond.

Then I went back and laid some glass over everything. I glassed the entire perimeter on one side of the door and two edges of the door opening. I’ll finish the rest over the next couple days then fit the door! Hopefully it actually fits.

Nope. I Coat them with mold release wax so epoxy doesn’t get in the threaded inserts. I have stainless fasteners for final assembly

Its amazing the amount of detail that you have considered. I think this thing is going to be fantastic!

I figured you might not get to lay any glass due to the temps up there right now. What's the lowest temperature you feel comfortable enough to work with fiberglass?

I have fast cure epoxy but it still needs about 50 degrees to fully cure. At the temps I have going, this will stay tacky for a long time. I’ll get some heat on it today. It helps that I keep the resin in the house so it’s already 70 degrees when it’s mixed.

Resin cured up fine on its own overnight and while we were surfing this morning. So, now I just need to get more glass cloth. I’ll handle that tomorrow then finish up this glass work this week.

Excited to get to the interior! It’s going to be a little bit of hell being in there working in strange positions but it should go relatively quickly (it will seem like I’m making good progress though tons of work remains). Need to order windows ASAP. The finished wall thickness needs to be measured and the windows will fit +\- 1/16”. So, I’m trying to get my sample panel painted so I can have a reasonable guess as to what a finished wall thickness may be.

I feel like it’s going to be a bit of a letdown because it’s so simple. It’s pretty much just a bed. There may be a few clever little things that get done in there but a queen size mattress is really it.

Glassed the edges of the back side of the door tonight. And picked up glass tape for tomorrow nights work.
